So is that confirming they just won't be generating, or they also won't be letting anybody out? Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 8, 2015 Global Moderator Posted January 8, 2015 I wouldn't bother. I was just there, you're bait is going to bounce if you cast at a good portion of the lake. Quote

Doc-Drew Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Here's the footage from yesterday. Met my buddy Craig out there and jumped in his boat before the Packer game. Once again, the jerkbait prevailed. I actually caught all of my fish on a $2.99 random sale jerkbait I got at Dicks, and actually none on my Rogue. Water temp was 60 at the outlet. Check the footage of me anihilating my KVD sqaurebill too, pretty funny. Boated 6-7 largemouth, biggest coming in right under 3.5#. Tons of whites too, but kept those out of the video. Enjoy! Looks like a beautiful day for fishing haha. 2 Quote

lk_bassin Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Hi, new to the forums and recently moved to Wichita. I am currently boatless, and am looking for areas to fish from the shore near the Wichita area once spring gets here. Any help would be great! Thanks! Quote

Welcome to the forum/nuthouse We have several guys in that area on this thread that I'm sure can offer up some information. I know the walk in fishing atlas has a bunch of Witchita area ponds listed on it but no idea if the bass fishing is any good in them, something I'd certainly check out though. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 14, 2015 Global Moderator Posted January 14, 2015 I found this on a crappie forum regarding the weed problem at Miami State Lake, I know some of you on here will be interested in reading it. Miami Co. State Lake has been overtaken by curly-leaf pondweed. So if an angler was there in May or early June, then yes I heard the vegetation coverage was very bad 90%-95% covered. Miami Co. State Lake is shallow and allows for perfect growing conditions across most of the waterbody. The good news is curly-leaf dies off on its own in the summer heat, and I was told that by Father's Day most of it had died off. By the time I arrived in September you could not tell there was a vegetation problem at all. I received a lot of compliments on the vegetation management we were doing at Miami when the problem had resolved itself. More good news is the crappie population looked good this fall with decent numbers and size structure. There has been some discussion about spot treating some areas this spring, because Miami Co. does receive a fair amount of pressure and from what I understand it was nearly unfishable last spring. We are going to wait and make the call sometime in April... Most likely something will be done and we will clear some areas around the jetties.Hopefully this answer satisfies the angler, let me know if you want some more information. joefish Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Anyone interested in a trip to Rainy Lake, Ontario? I had a guy and his partner just cancel on a trip the first week of June. PM me for details if interested. 1 Quote
mundell88 Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Has anyone fished the cooling pond at la cygne. It looks like about 20 acres of fishable water before it dumps into the main lake. Im a new poster but ive been lurking for several years. Reason im asking about the cooling pond is because im fishing out of a 14 ft jon boat with a trolling motor on the back. Dont think i need to attempt fishing the main lake with a trolling motor only. Quote
