SuperFluke Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Late notice but have an open seat this afternoon. Send me a dm. Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted October 30, 2014 Super User Posted October 30, 2014 Those were the best battles I've had In a long time. I tucked the rod under my armpit and just kept pressure on it. By the time I got the first one in my back was killing me. On the second fish I pulled put my phone and called sizzle and talked to him for 5 minutes on speakerphone before I landed it. It was crazy The way it pulled my boat around. Cody, I think you should just come with me sometime. Let me know. Today is my first day back to work after they lanced my cyst. Going Tuesday for a follow up and to schedule surgery. Quote
BassinR83 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Just got word back from the motor doc. To make a long story short, gonna have to say RIP to the Evinrude. There's a possibility of a rebuild, but still kind of early at this point. Otherwise I'll be pinching pennies over the winter to pop for a different engine before spring. Will probably use my dad's Lund whenever the opportunity arises, but if anyone has Melvern trips planned, I'm always down for a backseat if it's open. #BUMMED We'll see what happens though. Sorry to hear about your motor. I know how that feels. I blew mine up on Truman two years ago. On a side note, I'm glad fishing was good for you guys on Melvern last Saturday. I hit it up the following Sunday and learned my first Melvern lesson. Don't go when the wind is blowing 15-25mph. It did calm down for about 45 minutes towards dusk and I was able to land about 10-12 smallmouth at the dam. I may go this Saturday but the forcast is calling for 15mph winds:( Quote

Super User Hi Salenity Posted October 30, 2014 Super User Posted October 30, 2014 I threw them back. I'm guessing the big one was around 40" long. I guess I could have just stuck it's head in the livewell? Quote

I may try targeting them with live bait sometime That lake has big ones that make mine look like dinks! The biggest I've caught from that lake was 38 1 Quote
conorsixtakc Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 That freaking smallie in your avatar makes me not even want to work... Just not right Haha thanks man, I'm having the same problem... Didn't have a scale on me which I completely regret because she's my PB smallie, but looking back I know she went at least 4. Reminds me of those Cialis commercials... ask your doctor if your heart is healthy enough for topwater bronzebacks. 1 Quote

Super User Hi Salenity Posted October 30, 2014 Super User Posted October 30, 2014 I wouldn't be surprised if that lake had one in it that was 90+ I'd say bigger than that but it gets fished hard with limb lines trot lines and jugs. Quote

Lol, I don't overthink the color thing. I've got a ziplock Baggie with skirts I've tied and a Baggie with a few colors of 1/2oz heads with 5/0 hooks and a Plano box filled with Rage craws Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted October 30, 2014 Super User Posted October 30, 2014 I think it's because he's secretly patterning flatheads there. I honestly was disappointed that a boat was just camped out in my Flathead spot. So I went to another spot and caught those. 1 Quote
