Enphrared Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Went to cat claw last night and apparently everyone else had the same idea. 42 acre lake, plenty of room to fish and I guess I was in everyone else's favorite spot cuz there were 7 or 8 of us 20 yards apart from each other. Course I was the first on there. Anyways, couldn't buy a bite, but the fish were jumping all over the place, minnow pools all over the place. Didn't try a whole lot of things. Worked a couple of different colored super flukes up top, but no luck. Then ran some plastics on the bottom too. Oh well.... Quote
conorsixtakc Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 If any of you guys are interested in chipping in to potentially get access to fish Linn Valley Lakes in Linn Co, send me a PM or text if you have my number. Also, talked to Raymond from Mondo today and he wanted to know if all of us would like to meet at Mondo one night for a discount shopping night and so he can get some ideas of what everyone thinks he should or shouldn't be carrying. If you're interested let me know and I'll talk to him and try to get a night planned out. I was there last week and he had mentioned doing something special for the BR KC guys. I think it's a great idea, he seems interested in getting us what we want at a price that we can afford! Count me (and Ondrejka ) in. Quote

Seems like I always need to go multiple places to restock. Quote

He has lots of stuff from smaller companies that don't supply BPS and Cabela's. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted August 12, 2014 Super User Posted August 12, 2014 I went to Mondo Today for the first time. It's big, loaded with great stuff and he was verry nice!!! If you haven't been you need to go!!! I picked up an I-slide from him Today along with a few other things I "needed"? 1 Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted August 13, 2014 Super User Posted August 13, 2014 Never seen a bass eat a gar either, crazy. I think a lot of the shad are still small and hiding in the flooded vegetation along the shoreline out there. The smallies sure have gotten a lot skinnier since the water came up haven't they? The bite has changed a lot. We spent about 2 hours on the west side of the bridge. Water had more stain to it, only caught 2. I think I'm going back Thursday, need a second...... Quote

conorsixtakc Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 A buddy/coworker of mine fishes it every year, he says it's a blast. That lake is always a good time outside of fishing as well, never a shortage of things to do. On a side note is that drum at the bottom of the flyer??? Nice to see them not taking themselves to seriously lol Quote

Chris S Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Looking for help. My motor blew during a Thursday night tournament at Smithville lake two weeks ago. It is going in for repairs today, but I am without a boat and need to fish the last three Thursday night tournaments in order to get the points needed to qualify for end of year fish off. Does anyone know of someone who would be comfortable either renting out a boat, or perhaps fishing a Thursday night or two? This couldnt have happened at a worse time, so Im hopeful someone on here will be able to help out. My personal email is bdh67601@yahoo.com, so please contact me if you or anyone you know might be of assistance. Thanks! Rob H. KCMO Have you called up to Smithville Marine to see if they can help? Enphrared Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Went out to james a reed again last night. Managed to horse in a nice 3#. Earlier I was getting hammered by something big and it kept diving into the brush before I could pull him. Must've been a monster. He gave me two shots and lost two hooks. 1 Quote
Troy Taylor Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 I would go to Mondo's. I had been meaning to makes this post sooner....The evening we all met at Johny's I was being robbed back home. That evening I had somewhere around $2000 worth of fishing equipment stolen and my boat motor tampered with. Luckily the boat was parked out at my fathers house and everything was caught on video. Thank to the good men of the Franklin county sheriffs department they arrested the suspect in the video, a step nephew of mine. Most of the items have been returned. He still sits in jail now (for over a week now) on felony charges. Thanks I just needed to vent. 3 Quote
Ondrejka Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Glad to hear most of your gear was returned and the turd is in jail. Definitely one of my worst fears. Couldn't imagine having to start from scratch, nor would I have the financial means to. 1 Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted August 14, 2014 Super User Posted August 14, 2014 I made it to Lacygne for a bit today. I didn't catch anything big but I did manage 1 wiper and 5 bass that all went over 18" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v635/curt54321/2004%20venture/ [url=http://s.photobucket.com/user/curt54321/media/2004%20venture/50F65131-C0AA-40FB-B914-474C9193BA13_zps8f0tomja.jpg.html] It's cool getting 5 over 18" but it's been awhile since I didn't get something over 5# out of that lake :-/ I think I'm spoiled. Lol BTW, NO I didn't catch any Flathead :-/ 1 Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted August 14, 2014 Super User Posted August 14, 2014 I know the "selfies" don't do the fish any justice so this is another pic of the wiper on a board that measures 19" As I was getting the boat this morning I had a couple drops of oil under the motor? I popped the cowl off and discovered a cracked oil tank cap. I put some tape around it and went ahead and fished I don't think the tape worked??? 3 Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted August 14, 2014 Super User Posted August 14, 2014 Good looking fish! d**n, that makes me want to fish lacygne! 1 Quote
