Still working on coming up with a boat of my own, closest thing I have is a kayak down at LOZ. Thoughts of fishing from a kayak down there during the Summer around 7mm sounds like certain death to me  :laugh5:

If there were any co-angler opportunities I'd probably be interested.

We pair up boaters with non boaters almost ever time. If we set up a Thursday nighter type circuit it would mainly be smaller lakes so it wouldn't take much to fish them.

I'd fish any tourney I could if you could put me with a boater.

Sup guys! Finally got me a boat.

Hoping to boat some fish this season. Anyone know how to catch bass on Blue Springs Lake or Longview and want to be a non boater HMU and we'll talk. Planning on doing the Tuesday night tournys for the next 6 weeks or so then switch over to Sat morning tournys or head out farther from KC. Fished BS Monday night and didn't get a bite. No one hardly on the water. Heard they had a good night Tuesday in the tourny.

Awesome! I'm up for it whenever. I've been dying to get some fishing done since I moved to gardner. Just hard from the banks.

Ordered a new rig today, can't wait for it to come. Gonna try out a *** Black Med w/ Pflueger President (ya I like spinners :P). Hoping to come out to the BBQ place next week to meet some of the crew, if work permits.

Nice looking old rig. I haven't fished either but heard they're both very tough. I've considered trying Blue Springs but keep going to Jacomo instead. Jacomo has been tough during the daylight hours to even get a bite but gets much better once it gets dark.

Yea, gonna try to learn to fish around here. Plan is to get away to some bigger lakes on the weekends. I'm going up to the weigh in on BS lake Tuesday night to see what those boys are doing.

Love the boat. It's a rocket :)

Those Stratos/Javelin Fish/Ski's ride really well. We've got a '93 Stratos 280SF with a 175 Evinrude Intruder and it can really move, also handles rough water very well. Looks like yours is a little longer than ours though. Really clean looking boat!!

It's a champ on a plane for sure. I'm really liking it. I was wanting a fish and ski and saw a Javelin 396 in Fort Scott and just missed that one. But that boat got me settled on a Javelin 396 or a Ranger 397v. I found this boat in STL and shipped it here. Paid 4k. Starting to feel like I got a great deal. I already learned how to clean the carbs, tune them, adjust the control cables and the timing LOL Now I just wanna fish. Didn't get a bite on BS Lake again tonight. Place was over run with ski boats except the top of the lake. I chatted with some guys out there. Said they are hitting at 14 foot.

Sounds like you're in Jackson county, too. I fish Blue Springs lake and Prairie Lee lake often. Never fished longview, though.

BS is a tough nut to crack. Never caught good numbers there but have caught a couple 3lbers, and I have only fished there a few times. PM me if you want more details, and if you ever see a white Triton out there thats me!

Nice boat, btw!

Yea, I'm off Todd George by Langsford. I'll keep an eye out for your Triton! I always have some crown and coke to share on the boat. LOL

So, the report from Perry was pretty so-so.  We tried docks, both marinas, and some other places in between.  Saw RJ986 out there, and he had a good one when we pulled up.  He couldn't get his scale out of kilograms, so :Idontknow:

The best spot turned out to be a main lake point with a shallow, somewhat offshore ridge.  Blue got a 3.57 lb smallmouth there on a shakeyhead, while I was just happy to catch a mess of whites and a decent largemouth from the same spot.  We had to leave once Blue started getting giddy after he caught two drum on back to back casts with the ned.  Later on, Blue lost what appeared to be a 5-6lb class largemouth on a shakeyhead in a marina, which would have really capped off the trip.

Final score...SuperFluke zero drum, Bluebasser86 two drum, so I win. :respect-059:

I am fishing with the man, the myth, and the legend at gardner lake today, otherwise known as ned kehde.

Some of you people here have apparently fished a particular rig a time or two that he revolutionized.

I've heard Ned is about as nice a guy as you can meet, and a decent fisherman apparently :)

I bet Gardner was tough though. We were driving around to get the boy to fall asleep (been really cranky lately), and decided to drive out there after he fell asleep since it's about 5 minutes from the house. There were schools of shad on the surface EVERYWHERE right at dusk. Lots of food for them to eat, and nothing was chasing them anywhere.

We fished from 6-8:30 and caught 31 between the two of us.

I had big fish of the night if you count quick releases, 2 1/2 pounds jumped off right at the boat.

Best spot in my opinion was the hump with the two buoys and grass on it. Clayton, the shad you mentioned did end up getting chased on the edge of the hump by a big group of largemouth. It was quite the frenzy for about a minute, and quite fun to watch. We got a couple of bites swimming our rigs on the top of the water column when that was going on.

Ned outfished me 2 to 1 it seemed, he definitely knows how to handle the midwest finesse rig as he calls it. He still doesn't like it much that it's named after him, but he's come to accept it.  :laugh5:

Heavy lies the crown!  Awesome (jealous) that you got to fish with him!
