Im kind if an outlaw yakker like that. I **** to live in the edge lol jk.

My buddy lives on the lake and I usually just put in from his back yard. All the residents do it and I haven't ever seen them get hassled.

I think im going to wake up and go to Truman in the morning. Hopefully the fish will cooperate! The last reports I got looked rough going so we shall see!

Be careful not using the ramps, read on another forum a guy got a $153 fine for launching his yak from a random spot instead of the ramp. It says in the Jackson Co boating regs that you can't launch anywhere other than a ramp. I read that the don't patrol Prairie Lee much but we saw 2 park rangers today in 5 hours.

There are a couple spots on Jacomo that you can put a kayak in that are ok, outside of that it's a ramp or a fine.

Thinking about heading over to the Gasconade River next week, has anyone fished it before?  I've never fished a river before, I have no clue on what to expect.

Hit Jacomo today. Dad got a nice 3# in the morning. Rest of the day was slow and hot. Tried a lot of things, senko, shaky, trig, crig, jig/pig, various crank baits. Oh well, better luck next time. Wondering if all the rain got them in a funk.

Have no idea where to go tomorrow. Decisions, Decisions.

I'll be at the father/son tournament in Paola

:)

Good luck. I've got a bit of a desire to go out to melvern and see what's going on out there. Throw a crank/spook and maybe drag a jig out on some points. I know clayton didn't do to0 hot out there a while back, but fishing sucked most everywhere I went last weekend.

We wrecked them at Wolf Creek today, mostly wipers and walleye but several smallmouth whenever we got closer to the bank. The 20 or so 4+ pound wipers we caught on light spinning gear made it so we weren't too worried about fishing for anything else for awhile. Probably around 30 walleyes that were biting very aggressively and fighting very well. Some blues and channels. a largemouth, several smallies, bunch of whites, a 13.5" crappie, and of course a drum made for a busy day.

That's a full day right there.

I've been wanting to get my yak out on a river as well. I've been looking at doing a two day trip on the buffalo river but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Hey guys! New to the site. Looks like you all have bun logging some pretty nice bass. I just moved to the area from South East Kansas. I live in Gardner now. I'm looking for someone to fish with up here! I had to sell my boat last year, and I'll be looking to buy one next spring but would like to find some buddy's and get some fishing in to fill the void!

I love fishing for fun or competitive. It's always competitive though right? Neither you versus the crowd or you versus the green ones!

If anyone is willing to let me tag along in the back of the boat please shoot me a text! I don't care if it's Kansas or Missouri. I'm more than willing to split fuel ( truck and boat) and buy lunch/ dinner. I could tow the rig if needed as well. As of now all I have fished up here is walking the bank at celebration park and rented a boat at Jacomo.

Thanks guys,

Coty

Well there's lots of trees, tiny crappie, and carp, that's about it.

Welcome to the site and feel free to join my "Hillsdale sucks" club  :laugh5:

There are actually times you can catch a decent number of bass at Hillsdale. I fished it quite a bit last year because I also live in Gardner and it's so close. Last time I was out there though, I managed 2 little crappie and 1 little bass.

Worth the $100 4 hour rental?

What days work for you? I have weekdays off and have an empty seat occasionally as long as you don't mind fishing out of a jonboat and don't mind having a dog at your feet  :laugh5:

I've got a pretty easy job (make my own hours) so as long as I have a few days notice I can rearrange my days. Jon boats don't bother me a bit and neither do the 4 legged fishing partners.

HMM, pretty sure I may have mentioned something about that lake to you before?? Power plant lake right?

Well my full day to fish is always Friday but I usually get in a partial day on Thursday after I get off work. I'm probably transitioning to night fishing after this week (would be this week but if I go anywhere will likely have the wife with me and she doesn't do night time fishing). I'll let you know if I have an open spot.

Don't know if anyone is needing any rods but Academy is having their Rod Riot this week. Their rods are great at full price, now they're all at least $20 and every other rod they carry is discounted as well. Figures, I've been waiting for them to have another rod riot, and of course I'm completely broke  :Idontknow:
