SuperFluke I promise I've never even considered fishing anyone's hot spot based on someone's pic, or what someone wrote. Hope to see you all on the water some time or another Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 9, 2013 Global Moderator Posted November 9, 2013 In case anyone that might be interested hasn't heard yet, the Bassmaster Elites are coming to Table Rock next year April 3-6. I'm sure it's not as big of a deal as the Classic but it's a cool chance to meet some pros, watch them do what they do, and spend some time on the water. I got my request off in at work 1 Quote
joefish Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Perry sucked Saturday. Bunch of 6 to 9 inch crappie & a few whites Quote
SuperFluke Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Took my beautiful wife with me today. Knew we were heading south on I-35, but wasn't sure where we were going until I saw Blue's post early this AM. We were the 5th (of about 20 when I left) boats on the water around 9 a.m., and for the first time ever Wolf Creek was 100% calm. Like glass. Hit up the "spot" first, and I hooked up on my 2nd cast with a tube and my wife hooked up on her 1st. Landed one of those, which was a solid 2lb smallmouth. Went down the bank and caught a few more, probably putting 5 in the boat after sticking 10-12. Tried a couple more spots that I know about, including the roadbed pictured below. Pretty cool how you can see how the two lanes are starting to shift. No fish there, although I did see a few drum swimming around. I've painted over the GPS panel, but I'm sure most of you will still be able to guess where this is. It got crowded, so I ran uplake to check out the timber. I've been on Wolf Creek probably half a dozen times, but never went north of the outlet. Completely different lake up there, including muddy water and water temps in the upper 60s thanks to some enriched uranium. This is compared to 56 degrees on the south end. Didn't catch any largemouth like I had hoped, but the white bass were literally jumping into the boat. We caught probably 30, and then suddenly my wife hooked into a smallmouth. Decent sized fish hanging out in about 2ft of water with a bunch of white bass. . Let a couple guys in a Tracker share the wealth as they seemed to be struggling a bit. Seemed like they were getting into them pretty good as we left. All in all, a pretty fun day on the water. Just a heads up that KDWP was there to check livewells and licenses at the ramp as we left. Will be back out on Mon. trying to beat the cold front. Not sure where we're going or what species we'll be targeting, but I'll be sure to fill you all in. 1 Quote

I was there saturday too. Didn't fish the outlet as I was trying to figure the bass out all day. Didn't figure them out, and only caught a couple dinks. La cygne has NOT been hot lately. Apparently you can catch them, if you find them according to rodney up at bps. However, I haven't been able to find them and he even put me on some of his spots. I keep going thinking one of these days it's going to be on and I'll land a monster. In my opinion, and like you have mentioned before Clayton, the plethora of baitfish isn't helping. They are SO thick at la cygne right now. Not seen anything like it on any lake. One of the schools of shad I came across was almost the size of a football field. Whenever that shad kill comes, I think the fishing will be on fire. Right now, I think they have too much forage to choose from. Just my opinion. Quote

Didn't have high expectations just glad to be out of the house. There were baitfish all the way back to the bridge in the river. Quote

Without those eating machines tearing up the shad populations it's just one more factor keeping tons of shad in the lake. I bet all those little channel cat in the lake probably look like tadpoles they're so fat from gorging on all the little shad. I wouldn't ever count out the outlet for bass either. I've caught 2 over 7lbs from the outlet, several in the 4-5 pound range, and know of one over 9 from the outlet. Quote
