Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 23, 2013 Global Moderator Posted July 23, 2013 So, anyone been here or heard of this place? http://www.anglersparadise.biz/ Yes, supposed to have some monsters but isn't easy to fish from what I've read. Maybe the fishing is easy, the catching sounds pretty tough at times. Pretty reasonably priced though and with it having produced fish up to 13 pounds I've really considered giving it a try. Maybe the location of the next get together?Ā Quote
fknlo Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Made it out to Melvern today to try and catch some smallies. Ā Didn't have much luck, a few little guys on a Ned rig and one decent one on a bass flavored Hula Popper. Ā I did have a lot of fish go after the Hula Popper, but only one of them actually hit it well enough to stick. Ā It did rain a little, and after that the wind picked up and I didn't get another bite. Ā Ā Biggest of the day: Ā Quote
Fisher_C Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I had a great time with bluebasser at Wabaunsee. We had a pretty good night and morning of fishing. To bad that will probably be the only time I will get to fish with him. He is quite the angler and if he ever offers to fish with you take him up on it. I will be leaving the military and the Kansas area on the 5th of August to move back home to Tennessee. Until then, if anyone has a open spot on there boat around the fort riley manhattan are please let me know, as i would love to do some fishing before i go back to the "real world". I would love to fish wabaunsee with someone if they would like to give it a shot. If not you guys have been some pretty friendly guys, and wish everyone the best. 1 Quote

Chris S Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Took my son to South Lake Park to kill some time, first cast with a lipless and this guy hit it 5 feet from the bank. My boat is being held hostage by the City of Overland Park and theirĀ road work.Ā Ever sinceĀ I gaveĀ sizzleĀ myĀ Cabela's deep cycleĀ battery for his pond boatĀ three weeks ago he wont return calls or take me fishing on the pond Ā 1 Quote
MXHalofan Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Sup guys. I'm pretty much stuck fishing Jacomo the rest of the year with myĀ pontoon. My trailer needs a better axle before I can get it on the highway. Ā Anyone know how the Jacomo Monday tourny went last night? I am hoping there's a bite. I went fishing Friday night and it was sweltering hot and the fish were not active until we got off the lake about 11pm. Quote
retro basser Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 I've been having some good luck with this color combo I made, with a perfection blue feck pit boss trailer. I would definitely say try throwing a 4" pit boss on as a trailer, not many do so it adds some variance to possibly help with highly pressured areas. But like Blue said MO craw and PBJ and just mess with the trailers and mismatch them to see if that helps. Ā Ā I like those finesse skirts too.Ā I feel like it helps pickups.Ā Ā Thanks for sharing. Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 26, 2013 Global Moderator Posted July 26, 2013 Peter and I night fished Perry Wednesday night into Thursday morning. It was a serious grind for most of the night. I caught a couple dinks on a chatterbait in Rock Creek Marina and Peter caught a little drum and a good sized gar. We ran to the other Marina by the dam where I caught a couple more dinks and a couple drum. We were feeling pretty beat down by then and thinking about a move to somewhere else or just calling it a night. Made a run to the Slough Creek bridge. We caught a couple more drum and then I finally caught a smallmouth and largemouth on back to back casts. Little bit further I caught another largemouth and then another. We went under the bridge and decided to fish back the way we just came. Not long after we headed back Peter hooked what we thought might be another big drum until it jumped. I scrambled for the net in the dark and managed to get her netted, 5lbs 1oz on a chatterbait. We jumped across to the riprap on the north side of the bridge and shortly after that move I stuck a solid fish on my chatterbait that went 4lbs 1oz. I got brave and started throwing my 7" Slammer, apparently I wasn't the only one feeling brave. Just like last time, once it got sunny it got really tough. A few more bass, a flathead, and I'm sure some more drum were about it, except for a very skinny 3.5 pounder that was 20" long that I caught on a baby brush hog.Ā Quote
Mr_Scrogg Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Took the Scrogglet out to Butler SFL. He whooped me, 6-2. Lake was Chocolate Milk!! Tried Chartreuse Squarebill, Frog over the slop, Slitshot rig with a Junebug Lizard, Nada. Couple bites on a TRigged Baby Brushhog. Got both mine on a Siebert Outdoors OOmod Swimjig. Xans came on Neds, and Fat Albert. Still yet to really dial in that lake. Oh yea.... pic of the rig.... Quote
Wachati Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Hit State Lake this morning. Got a late start, was on the lake around 8:45. I caught two keepers, and the gf caught one.Ā Forgot the scale, but I would say mid 3s on two of them and the one I caught on a jig was a mid 4.Ā Also caught about a 6 pound cat.Ā Caught them on Chatter, baby brush hog, pit boss, and jig. I haven't seen state lake this good in awhile, so I am hoping to see some good fish caught this weekend from the nice cool weather.Ā Quote
