oldgolf4 Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 If you were fishing for bass and crappie, and launching from 6 mile marina next week, where would you fish? Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 May be a late reply but if you can get to the Community Flats in Housen there are fish there. In Six Mile I would probably fish up Sandy Creek and at the mouth of Six Mile. Quote
bayouXpress Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 anybody familiar with Fox lodge. We are planning our yearly trip but looking to go further south on the texas side. Quote
hobo1616 Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 will be fishing the Mcgee flats/ Hickory ridge area this week end have not been in about a month anyone have some advice? Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 BE CAREFUL!!! The Mcgee flats are holding fish, especially where there is grass, but it can be tricky to get in there. When rinning the boat lane, stay on the lake side of the bouys no matter what. Some of those humps and points come all the way out to the bouys and are very shallow. As far as fishing goes, cant go wrong with a red trap around grass right now! Quote
WdyCrankbait Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Thank you for this post, I might be taking a job about 45 minutes away from Toledo bend! Come on LA!!!! Quote

fishingcajun Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Any reports from Toledo Bend this past weekend. Heading up Thursday. Like to fish mid lake area. But open to go down to Houson, etc one day. Also would like to catch one mess of white perch. Any help here is greatly appreciated. I heard the chicken coop, but last year when i went they had all the places tied up. How do you guys fish the deep water for white perch. line setup ,, etc. thanks guys Quote
hobo1616 Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Last weekend they were shallow and the best bite I had was on a red eye shad im not a big lipless crank guy but it easliy out produced all other offerings for me last weekend any point I found that was flat and shallow on top and dropped to deep on the sides held fish. Did not catch 1 fish all weekend that was not on a point. They could be other places but after the first couple of hours of trying other places I went to just fishing points. Quote
Ranger Jim Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Hobo, What part of the lake were you fishing? Quote
hobo1616 Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 I caught most of them off a 20 yard spot on mcgee flats I also had a few on points in the hickory ridge area Quote

Dfred Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Just found this site very interesting I have questions for you Catt 1.My camp is at Toledo Bend Resort and I fish from Pirates Cove south up to Six Mile, have you fished pirates cove ? if yes what is your most productive way of catching fish there ? 2. I like fishing the Texas island exspecially the along the north side where there is a big rocky point that goes out to very deep water , I have tried alot of ways but can't seem to catch alot of fish there but it is such a good looking spot to me I always have to stop and fish it before heading to Mill Creek(which will lead to my 3rd question)How would you suggest I attack that rocky point ? 3. What is your favorite way to fish Mill Creek ? Quote
six-mile C-Rig Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 That rocky point on the northwest corner Tx island is a good summer/fall/winter place to fish.. i personaly have caught many fish there, I usually carolina rig that point... If you're gonna fish mill and pirates anytime in the next week or two, concentrate on secondary points near creek channels. Quote
Dfred Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Thanks Six-Mile C-Rig P will be there Feb-20-25 and then the first week of April for sure Quote
Ranger 251 Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 bayouXpress, The LOBI has been cancelled for this year. Quote

Dalton Tam Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I've got a tournament on the Bend Mar. 3rd. Will be there all throughout Feb. Cant wait to get back out there. You arent fishing the annual Shriner's boat show!? lol Quote
six-mile C-Rig Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 just a little report.... Fished today 1/28 from roughly 7-1. Wind was ridiculous on the way to the first fishin hole. The pattern was consistant all day. The fish were in creek channel bends and on the edge of flats very close to the creek channels, ranging from 8-15 fow. Caught fish on multiple presentations, cranks, spinners, jigs, and plastics. Pics of the best 2 from today, a 4.0 and a 6.0 1 Quote
IneedAnewScreenName-972354 Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Beautiful Bass Six-Mile! I'll be heading up to Toledo next week and it can't get here fast enough! Quote
