Dalton Tam Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 I remember looking on this thread one time, and there was a site to go to and put in the coordinates to find humps and ridges and it showed the topography of the lake. I've been looking through the thread maybe I'm over looking it. What do I need to go to? Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Dalton are you headin up to Toledo soon? I am going Oct. 8-10 so if your up there holla at me. Also, have you been catching ne fish in Saline? I got a tourny Sat. out there. Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 23, 2010 Author Super User Posted September 23, 2010 Catt,The river authority stated that the lake was going to be dropped to 165. Based on your past experience, what percent of what they say can we take as the actual truth? Meaning that they will keep it at or near 165 for what they can control. In other words, they say 165 but they continue to drip the lake lower than originally stated. Thanks Due to very low (rainfall) inflows and high evaporation rates, the lake level may continue to go down slightly; under summer skies the lake can drop 1/4-1/2" daily. The "Flood" pool level for the lake is 172' msl, the actual "normal" lake level is 169' msl plus or minus a foot. The Operating Guide schedule for October - December is 168.0' msl as rainfall and inflows allow. I look at it like this, 172' pool level, 169' actual level that is a variance of 3', so they shoot for 165' it'll end around 162'. Data from the SRA Louisiana Levels / Generating Schedules for the last 9 yrs shows an annual average of 166.43'. Fall on the Bend is traditionally low lake level and fishing a wide variety techniques. Spring on the Bend is traditionally high lake level and fishing a wide variety techniques. Summer/Winter on the Bend is traditionally some where in between the two and fishing deep water structure with bottom contact techniques. Quote

BulletDon Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Man this thread has been quite the past few weeks. Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 27, 2010 Author Super User Posted September 27, 2010 SRA Louisiana Levels / Generating Schedules As of: 09/27/2010 6:30 AM Lake Level: 165.02 Generator 1: Currently shut down Generator 2: Currently shut down Spillway Gates: Closed Current Waterflow: 174 CFS Water Temperature: 83-87 Most of the lake is clear with the north slightly stained, mid lake clear and south very clear. There is a lot of shad from the mouth all the way to the backs of major creeks and they are starting to move into minor ditches, coves and drains. Top water and spinner bait is on but we are spending most of the time fishing a T-rigs, C-rigs and jigs at depths of 8-30 feet depending on time of day. Boating 15-25 bass a day has been easy with 8-12 of those keepers. Quote
alwayslooking Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 put in at 6-mile this morning,,was to windy to fish the main lake stuff,,,ended up in miles creek to get out of the wind,,,caught 25,,2 keepers,,most were schoolers,,tried tx rigs but no bites with the bait not moving,,,most bites were from reeling the bait back slowly,,caught the schoolers on chrome/blue trap Quote
