The crappie fishing is as hot as ever.  We are catching 50-100 everyday right now and I expect it to be that way through the month of June.  Great time to go load the boat.  We are fishing piles in 18-25’ with shiners suspended over the top of the pile. 1 Quote
river-rat Posted April 11, 2021 Posted April 11, 2021 Today was a lot different than yesterday. I launched at Jack's 944 and fished in Housen Bay. I tried jerkbaits, chatterbaits, and Texas rigged lizards and baby brush hogs with no success. I was finally able to catch 5 short fish on a Carolina rig fishing points on the south side of Housen.  I'm thinking about going over the Sam Rayburn tomorrow and fish either the Mill Creek or San Augustine areas. 1 Quote

Luv2fish! Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 I’ll be down next week, Tuesday through Friday on north end and mid lake. Hopefully I’ll have a good report ?. 1 Quote
river-rat Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 I wish I had a good report to give but it's been really tough this week. Most people I talk to out on the lake are telling me they are experiencing the same thing.  The few fish I've caught since last Saturday morning were on a swing jig with a Little Dipper swim bait and a Carolina Rig with a watermelon red baby brush hog.  I'm not giving up just yet. I've still got two more days to figure things out.   1 Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 We caught 19 yesterday.  Found a mega school in housen but they were really hard to fire up.  An Arig was the only thing they’d bite.  Today was a little better but it was WET!  It rained most of the day.  We fished mid lake and caught about 30 and had some good ones.  Biggest fish came on a 6xd and the rest were on an Arig.  15-25’ on secondary points. 2 1 Quote
Scot Ferguson 2.0 Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Need some opinions. Will the water finally rising put some fish in the bushes? Just got here for a week of fishing......San Patricio area. Any help appreciated! 1 Quote

You might find the odd couple of fish up shallow still spawning but for the most part the spawn is well finished on the north end of the lake. 2 Quote
JAWS Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Good to see the pond is filling up. Hopefully it'll get back in the bushes for the fry to hide. Gotta restock every year. 1 Quote

By the end of that week the fish were gone from the banks.  You would be hard pressed to find a legal length bass 9n san Miguel in less them 7 foot of water right now.  They got absolutely hammered this year by the weather, water conditions and the sheer amount of fishing pressure. 1 1 Quote

Bass_Fanatic Posted May 11, 2021 Posted May 11, 2021 The fishing on Toledo has been on fire.  Lots of numbers and size the past month.  Friday I had 3 electronics trips so we didn’t do much fishing but we made a few cast and caught a 8-9lb fish on a big crankbait.  We are finding fish off points and ledges in 12-18’. 2 Quote

CRosh Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 Good morning to all! I've finally read the entire thread over the last several months. I want to thank all for making this an enjoyable read. It has peaked my interest even more for the big pond! We are taking my dad for a long weekend the dates of June 10th-13th. Coming from Pineville, LA and staying at the North Toledo Bend State Park. He hasn't been on TB in many years. He's getting up in age, so my brother and I wanted to take him camping and fishing. We will be chasing mainly bass, and I guess fishing close around the 1215/Blue Lake area. He's a top water and T-rig guy, so we'll try and find some grass and wood and brush to target. Any suggestions will be gladly accepted and appreciated?  On a separate note, My camper trailer generally sits at house during the spring and summer months and only gets used during hunting season. After reading through this thread, I think for next year I would like to park it somewhere on the lake for several months and get some use out of it during the year besides just hunting season. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good safe area with full hookups?  Thanks....Chris Quote
Super User Catt Posted May 14, 2021 Author Super User Posted May 14, 2021 @CRosh How y'all are?  If you haven't made reservations yet I would suggest looking at San Miguel - #7A.  As for fishing that area @A5BLASTER would be the man & he probably could answer your RV questions. Quote
