Super User fishfordollars Posted May 27, 2010 Super User Posted May 27, 2010 Just got back. Not a great day, but did manage to put a few in the boat. Will post the details tomorrow. I'm going to crash. Quote
Super User Catt Posted May 27, 2010 Author Super User Posted May 27, 2010 TBendBassin, we can take this thread most anywhere y'all want to go Summer time fishing on the Bend is easiest because the bass will be located in grass near deep water structure; that is not to say no other pattern will be productive but it will be the highest percentage pattern. Even hear the phrase "start shallow early"? To the average Joe this means "bank shallow" or within casting distance of the bank but can I add another pattern to the definition that is more productive? Let's say I have a hump out on the main lake that tops out at 8', that would be by my definition "starting shallow early". I've tried that point on a few occasions but not enough to say it productive or not! Quote
bigtimfish Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Catt, has the grass in T Bend started gettig real thick yet? Seems like last year around this time Sandy was really grown over. So thick I had to trim waaaaay up and idle in the boat lane for about 400 yds before I could get on plane. Quote
TBendBassin Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 just got back from the bend and had a chance to relax from the seriousness of the sport and brought my fiance fishing for the schoolies.. let me tell you we had a blast! the topwater bite this time of year is great on the bend. just focus on points with deep water near by and after they come up in a frenzy follow up with a t-rig or a medium or deep diving crankbait.. also the night fishing is improving Quote
Super User Catt Posted June 3, 2010 Author Super User Posted June 3, 2010 How thick the grass gets depends on when you are at on the lake, some areas it gets really thick earlier than others but for the most part the grass is a little behind. Schoolies & Top Water = Awesome Quote
sacalait hunter Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 I will be headed to Toledo Bend the week of June 14th staying in the Big Bass Marina Cove. Will have all the kids and grandkids. alwayslooking Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Catt, looking at n31.19257 w93.66201 on acme mapper,,,is it too far away from the hydrilla? How would you fish it? There is not much depth change for many yards around it,,,there is some grass on that point but it is close to the bank,,,i figure you would use your jig or big worm, but i'm wondering what you would be looking for,,,what the spot on the spot would be? Quote
TBendBassin Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 alwayslooking that is a well know spot i fish it quite regularly because my camp is N 31.20499 W 93.66027 so im right there and clear creek is and good place to fish.. i usually fish it earlier in the year and i actually like to fish a little right of where you marked it.. i usually throw a jig there because there is a decent amount of underwater timber and i like to drop that jig through there but i have also caught bass there on t-rig.. if you want to catch schooling bass then bass always school on the point N 31.18995 W 93.66632 and out on the timber edge N 31.19388 W 93.65905 you cant see it but there is a big timber field right there. back to the spot you were talking about ive never fished it this time of year because i have other spots that produce great for the current conditions Quote
alwayslooking Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Tbend, thanks for the reply,,i've not really fished that spot much,,but i've had limited sucess close to the grass on the same point,,,i'm going to give deep structure some more time tommorrow afternoon in the mill creek area Quote
alwayslooking Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Tbend, have you fished 31.20036/93.63906? during the summer? looks good, but you know everthing looks good, lol. Quote
TBendBassin Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 ahhhhh yes one of my favorites! carolina rig always produces for me their Quote
Super User Catt Posted June 10, 2010 Author Super User Posted June 10, 2010 alwayslooking , like TBend mentioned that spot is very well known I fish the very end where you marked because its the intersection of Clear & Mill creeks, I fish down the right side heading into Mill. Weapons of choice Texas Rig, Jig-N-Craw, & Carolina Rig. I've always had better luck in Mill out toward the mouth Quote
alwayslooking Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 fished mill saturday,,1 keeper,,6 dinks,,,all on topwater, early,,from 6' to 17' of water,,tried several of the previously mentioned areas, 15' to 22', no takers,,,was a long hot day,,Catt, the south end has a lot of stringy grass,,maybe millfoil stalks, out to about 8'-10', any fish in it? I tried flipping the outside edge of it, but no bites..Tbend, that hump gave up a 5.5 friday about 6.30pm, but no takers on saturday thru 3.30pm Quote
bigtimfish Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Man I fished the south end on Sat and had a ball. Not only is it the most beautiful part of that lake I have ever seen, but the avg. size was bigger than that of the ones I catch in Sandy and Six Mile. I put 6 in the boat my dad got 4. Not bad for us considering we only fished from 8am til 2pm.Every one seemed to be over 2lbs easy. The biggest was I guess around 4. Thats good for me and him. He usually catches 1 and that's it. We caught a lot in the back of Indian Creek. Past the bridge. No takers on topwaters, but they sure seemed to love my xcalibur xr50. Only 1 came off a plastic. A grande bass mega claw (wat/candy) under a gambler KO hangover skirt. I will definately go back to the far south end. Plus it was one of the nicest boat launches I have ever used. Quote
txbass1 Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Don't know if anyone has already seen this, but the Elites are coming to town April 14-17, 2011. Schedule was just released on bassmaster.com. Can you imagine the boat lane traffic? Quote

capierrottie2 Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Fishing Report Date: June 26 and 27 (Only fished a couple of hours after daylight both days) Lure: Silver Jigging Spoon, White Spinner Bait Location: Jessie Lowe Me and my wife had a ball fishing last weekend. We started out C-Rigging with Watermelon Red Flukes in 10ft to 17ft of water with minimal success. We were catching small undersized fish, so I moved to deeper water around 20ft and located a bunch of fish on my depth finder. I grabbed my jigging spoon and it was on. We caught a lot of different kinds of fish. We caught bass, strippers, hybrids, caspacou, and 2 blue cats that weighed about 8 pounds each. The bass would also school up around the boat sometimes and I would catch one or two with the spinnerbait. We ended up catching around 60-70 fish total over the two mornings with 19 being bass, with the largest being 4lbs. Can't wait to go back this weekend. Quote
