Depending on the area of the lake there's a couple questions ya need to ask yourself.

Is the area in a direct flow of runoff?

How much water is in the brush?

What's the clarity?

I'll be in San Patricio.  Not sure about how the runoff affects that area. I was there last year during the March full moon and done very well. Water was about where it is now........dingy.....but lots warmer. Seen a report that water in the north this past weekend was around 50°. As memory serves water was 67 or so last year. Don't look like much of a warm up between now and then.......but anything can happen with that. Weather man is hardly ever right.

We are leaving out tomorrow night from Kentucky and will get there late Friday evening. We will be fishing both Toledo Bend and a couple of times at Sam Rayburn all next week. I have been so excited for this opportunity of a lifetime for me. I just want to say "Thanks" to all of you that responded to my questions. I look forward to spending 8 days at Holly Park Marina and fishing these two lakes that I have only read about in magazines. Wish me luck and if you have any last minute tips for this Kentucky boy, he sure would like to hear them !

Got here too late yesterday afternoon. Too much wind anyway. Headed to Rayburn tomorrow.  Hurting too bad to fish right now.

I’m discouraged but not leaving. Grind it out lol. At least I got to fish today. Only caught two at Rayburn where last month I did very good. More people same water temp. 57-60. Uncle caught 3 in Six Mile. Same water temp. Might as well stay around here until the weekend is over. Slim report but that’s how it is sometimes.

Hit the Christmas tree area today.

10 to 14 foot tops of humps.

Bandit cranks in pearl and black back color.

Landed 7 had 4 more jump off, all fat females, smallest was 3.04 largest was 5.12.

Didn't get a water temp due to no graph in the boat right now but it felt dang cold, like 50 degree cold.

If I had a wig it would have left my head at McGee’s and landed in Tennessee Bay ? It was rough this afternoon. It’s a miracle I caught one lol

Almost froze to death in a short sleeve shirt in a South wind?

Stayed close to the house today. Getting in some more work learning the ins and outs of my new minnkota.

Fish buckbrush, laydowns and logjams in the 1 to 2 foot depth with the good old swimbait.

Landed 24 had 9 throw the hook, missed more strikes then I will admit too.

No females all small buck bass biggest landed was 13 inch on the money.

Spot on Catt.

If we don't get another coldfront, mid week next week there should be some ladies on the dance floor.

On a sidenote.

The reckless behavior and straight foul mouth rude attitudes of some of the guys fishing tourney's the last few days. Has been the very worse I have seen ever on this lake.

Biggest one today. Scale said 3.54 lbs.

Infront the house on the old sunken island.

KVD caffeine shad in ghost shad color and owner flashy swimmer hook.

2 foot of water on the brush.

She wasn't on the dance floor but she had just parked her car.

Finished the day with 17 bites and 17 landed. Everything else was non legal sized buck bass. All in 1 to 3 foot of water situated on wood.
