Holly park is towards the back of Patroon.  I fish the front third mostly.

Looking at the hook n line map I see a boat lane named james gaines, is this a marked boat lane?

I don't have the map in front of me, but I don't that is there anymore.  You have the main N/S lane and one the intersects it and goes all the way to the back of patroon.

Use to be, not sure now, great fishing areas

@LovestoFish was in that area recently, maybe we can get him to elaborate.

Think I’m going to get the kayak out and head north and get mud shallow and see what happens.  Boats at the doctor.

944 is a kayaker's heaven, pretty much protected, lots of structure, & cover.

Cat Daddy is right as usual. Another place for a pirogue is the back of Sandy and Six Mile. If that don’t blow your skirt up, I’ll be back over there next week and you can fish with me.

Catt, I’ll be over there when you are and several others it seems so wouldn’t mind buying a round at Fin’s if y’all are up for it.

Most anglers believe ya can't fish Toledo Bend in small boats. I've spent many years fishing this pond in a jon boat, even out on the main lake.

The key is learning as many public launches as possible. Pay attention to the weather & select protected areas.

?

Back when I only had my 15x48 weldbuilt flat and my sup'd up merc 40 big foot, I use to get some weird looks out at Indian mounds and the chicken coop.

Even had one guy in a 20 something foot skeeter ask me if I was mental slow lmao.

Then again us Cajuns are pro's at running lil boats in big water. A season of duck hunting grand lake will put many years worth of boat's men's skills under your belt.

I would be more afraid of a idiot running over me then if my boat was to small for the wave action.

Reading Time:2/22/2020 6:00:00 AM

Lake Level:169.96 MSL

Current Water Flow:14441.00 CFS

Generator 1:Running 24hrs.

Generator 2:Running 24hrs.

Spillway Gates:Closed

I know plenty of anglers are excited about the lake level being back up.

FYI

Raising water levels are the most difficult to fish.

With all the rain running into the lake & the amount of water going out the generators we have a current. Most anglers don't consider current a factor on Toledo...ya might wanna!

Stability is key: stable water levels & stable weather patterns.

That makes perfect sense, although I never thought about it affecting the lake that way. I would think with the rain water coming in that  would keep the water temps down, and with the water level rising will this affect the spawn?

Current will help predict where the bass will be setup on structure.

Fluctuating water levels will affect the spawn in various ways.

Yes sir but with both generators running 24/7 SRA is holding it steady.

Full moon is March 9th, the bass should be squirting eggs every where!

Just got the new powerdrive v2 with spotlock installed Friday and should have the new helix 7 mega DI installed by next month.

Lines have been changed, new hooks on everything, new spark plugs, engine tuned up, new bilge plugs everything checked out and ready to hit the water with a vengeance lmmao.

Depending on the area of the lake there's a couple questions ya need to ask yourself.

Is the area in a direct flow of runoff?

How much water is in the brush?

What's the clarity?
