Clinton john Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Caught my first one of the season today off the bank infront of my house in about 2 foot if water.  Lil 8 are maybe 9 inch fatty but it was still nice to catch one. 3 1 Quote
RCCA Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 I only caught 5 today in that wind. I had to go shallow. One of them was in a foot of water in some lilly stems. By no means the winning pattern but they’re not all suspended in 40 feet of water ? 7 Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 8, 2020 Author Super User Posted February 8, 2020 Yeah but not on Toledo Bend, ain't been yet!  Caught 20 this size  3 Quote

RonnieF Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 (edited) Caught almost 20 this afternoon. Most on a glimmer blue fluke and some on a pop R imitation. 61 degrees water temp where I was (mid-lake). The bass were blowing up the shad all over. The biggest was 4.5. Edited February 11, 2020 by RonnieF 4 Quote
operationgrass Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 @A5BLASTER how much rain have y’all received? Need to go and get my boat but afraid the road might be to muddy to get to it. 1 Quote

RCCA Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 I forgot to tell y’all this when I was there. They logged almost all the trees east of the Six Mile public landing and had cones out so you couldn’t park where everybody usually parks. I’d say half the parking lot was taken so get there early or park on the highway. I heard they were putting in bathrooms and other improvements.  2 Quote
operationgrass Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 Thanks. Think that means it’s a no go on getting the boat out. 1 Quote
RCCA Posted February 12, 2020 Posted February 12, 2020 Half the reason I went back to Rayburn but it all worked out. Can’t wait to go back. 2 Quote
JMW Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 I have some questions about crank baits.  Baits with rattles are with out rattles?  When do you use the ones with rattles? 1 Quote
Dougw Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 When I'm fishing.... Â I don't think I own any w/o rattles... Â Under "most" conditions rattling baits work just fine. Maybe... Maybe... under highly pressured conditions would I consider a silent crankbait an advantage - maybe. Â But that would be obvious from my second statement. 2 Quote

Super User Catt Posted February 14, 2020 Author Super User Posted February 14, 2020 The only bait I use with rattles is a Rat-L-Trap ? 1 Quote

Senko Junkie Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 In less than two weeks, my buddy and I will be headed to Toledo Bend from Kentucky. This will be a trip of a lifetime for me. I see that the water levels seem to be coming up nicely. My Question? At the current water levels, is it high enough to reach the buckbrush that I keep hearing about? From everything that I have read, thats my style of fishing.......lol  Quote

Senko Junkie Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Thats discouraging! I am really hoping for a shallower bite. Im not the best fisherman when it comes to deeper water. I do love fishing timber though and there seems to be plenty of it..........lol  1 Quote

SRA is running generators.  Date/Time: 2/17/2020 10:00 AM Lake Level: 169.03 MSL Current Flow: 13371.00 CFS Generator 1: Running 24hrs. Generator 2: Running 24hrs. Spillway Gates: Closed 2 Quote
