What part of the lake? Give us some details on the area of the lake you want to fish and we can probably help get you on some.

I'm coming off deercation at noon tommorw, going find some fat girls myself.

im staying over by Many. But i have no problem trailering to any part of the lake or doing a large run.

Well I live on the Sam Miguel finger of the lake and fish that area and the 1215 area.

Only to boat ramps useable on this end right now. North Toledo state park and the ramp at Barbie campgrounds just before the lananna bridge.

If you fish Sam Miguel are the 1215 area. I would work the creek mouths starting in the 3 to 5 foot range and work out to the 15 foot range of water.

Even though the water is down they should still move up the creeks as Dar as they can.

Follow the bait, the wind will drive the bait up against and into primary points off of the main channel and the bass will be along those points and around the creek mouths where the wind is blowing.

In the 1215 area, look for any remaining grass, should still be some leavt, 3 to 10 foot of water. If there is grass the bass will be staged in it on the wind blow side ambushing the shad that gets blown up into it.

Shallow square bill cranks, 1/4 once traps, spinnerbaits and swimbaits.

This is my plan of attack tommorw.

Personally I'd look at creek channels close to shallow water & fish the available cover.

How did today go A5Blaster?

Any reports from others recently?

Is there grass left in Toledo right now, and what types?

Didn't go. Got caught up on some much needed work around the house. Going to try and go out tommorw.

I went on the south end yesterday.  We struggled to find groups of fish.  Everything we saw was scattered out.  Late afternoon they did begin to bunch up and we caught 18 before heading out.  I really think the shallow bite is better early in the morning, then go deep after lunch.

That is what my brother said two weeks ago.  Around 2:00-2:30 the fish would show up on the points and ledges.  They would push the shad up on top of the flats and points and go ballistic.

I was thinking the same thing, but as of right now it doesn't look like the weather will allow it.

Looks good. Way better than a real Christmas Tree ?

If we’re talking baits, I think I’m reluctantly going all in on the A Rig. Any tips would be much appreciated. Right now, I have the Yum rig and just switched to Keitech shiners on the small side. Have several different heads to try. Bite me, Jenko, and Divine. Gunna quit using braid and maybe switch to Shane’s Rigs. All over the place so please help a brother out ?

I have 3 dedicated Arig rods in my boat.  2 with  65lb braid and 1 with 25lb floro.  I do get bit more on floro it seems, but the braid is nice when you get hung up.  Personally, the best jighead I’ve found is the V&M lockdown Swimbait head. 1/8oz. Little Dipper p, rage swimmers, and Keitech 3.3 and 3.8s

I had a lot of problems getting hung up and losing rigs with the open swimbait head/hooks. I started using Owner's weighted twistlock CPS hooks and rigging the baits texposed and pretty much solved getting hung up. Works extremely well in the grass..... I use 1/4oz version of these hooks and a 5 bait rig.

Thanks man. Can you get a hook in them?  I started with a weedless approach and missed too many. I’ll try it again. Maybe the texposed will be the key and what I did wrong.

I don't chunk the A-rig alot but I do catch'em on it. I'm still trying to get more confidence in it but its hard for me to put down the 1/4oz. OneKnocker.

I’ve used both ALOT. You can catch fish with it rigged weedless, but a lot of fish I catch on the arig it seems as if they just swipe at it and I hook them outside of the mouth.  I miss those with it weedless, but hook a lot of them with it exposed.  I start off throwing my arig with 65lb braid.  Let it sink to the bottom and slow roll it back to the boat.  Learn to feel when it’s coming over a stump and don’t set the hook into a stump.  If you can do that, 99% of the time you can pull it loose with you set the hook on it, it’s more 50/50.  Once I throw it a few times without getting hung, I’ll pick up my rig with floro.

Why do you have more confidence in the floro rig over the braid rig? Or is there another reason you prefer the floro rig?

On a trip to Rayburn back in early December we got on a couple of huge schools of fish.  We caught them pretty much every cast for awhile then it slowed down.  I picked up the arig with floro and started catching again.  I caught 18 in a row with my buddy casting the same exact arig in the same exact spot without a bite.  I picked up the one with braid...nothing.  Picked up the one with floro and started catching again.  Also, a couple weeks ago in Toledo when we caught a ton of fish I was throwing braid and a client was throwing copoly.  He was catch 3-1 compared to me.  I picked up the one with floro and started catching more than him.  I don’t think it always matters, but I’ve yet to see a day they eat the one with braid more than the one with floro, but I have seen it the other way around quite a bit.

When do you find the arig works the best? I’ve thrown it around a little bit and catch here and there with it but never great? Is it better on certain types of structures than others? Or is it a situational thing?

They don’t eat it everyday, but from October to May, I always have 3 tied on.  They do bite it a lot better with some wind, but other than that, I’ll throw it around a lot this time of year.
