Setting in 14-16 fow casting to 10-12 fow. I was chunking an emerald blue baby brush hog. Also got bit on watermelon red w/chartreuse tail bbh and a chartreuse/watermelon trick stick. Only worked one road bed but caught, got bit, from one end to the other.

All day rain may limit exactly how much running looking I can get done today!

What was the water temp?

Last Wednesday temps were 67-68

yesterday 60-62

today 58-60

tomorrow lower than today

went to check out a few more roadbeds. I see them on the map but can’t locate them with my electronics. I check 50 yards either side of where the map says they are but no findee. Was on the water 8-11:30 caught on spot. Moving/running just wasn’t a lot of fun....

Thank you for your response. Where were you fishing. North, central, or south end.

Caney Creek(Big Bass Marina)

Caney Creek(Pirates Cove)

Today I’m working mid-lake Texas side. Housen, Six Mile, Indian Mounds, etc....

The amount of bait fish I’m seeing on my electronics is stupid crazy. Absolutely huge balls of bait extending from 5’ to 25’ and 25-30 yds. wide. It doesn’t seem to matter where I’m at main lake or 1/2 way back in a cove. Fish are with them as well. I’ve taken a number of screen shots but no way to post them remotely.

Tried working my way back in the coves but the water keeps getting colder as I move towards the back. 100% cloud cover Wed. and the same yesterday with drizzle/pissin’  rain all day didn’t help. With sun forecast for today I’m thinking the shallow water may heat up enough to pull fish back there later this afternoon.

@Dougw You may have look for hard spots, some roadbeds are not well defined.

Roadbeds for whatever reason are overlooked by many angles.

Yeah... and sometimes they were only dirt logging roads and weren’t ever well defined...

not much doing today! Spent more time in the truck than the boat. Started to cross the lake this morning. Got a 1/2 mile away from the north/south boat lane heading west when the boat started losing speed and vibrating. I figured the lost speed was a coil. Wasn’t sure about the vibrating. Long story short the loss of speed was indeed a bad coil. The vibration... slung a blade on my 26p Fury 4.

Sorry man. Sounds like we might be related.

Roadbeds were the first thing I learned how to fish that wasn't shoreline related. When the lake still had plenty of stumps above the water line roadbeds beds were easy to see even on the main lake.

We fished yesterday.  Man it was COLD and didn’t start warming up until about 10 am.  We scanned points, ledges, creek swing, river swings, roadbeds, hard spots, and humps with little to nothing to show for it.  The Shad were in the creek channels in 28-32’ but never found any fish with them.  We caught 7 or 8 off of one point in the Indian mounds and that was it.  It is brutal out there right now.  Hopefully I’ll be guiding on Rayburn the remainder of the year lol.  We are killing them over there.

Yesterday.... got two bites. Thought I was having engine problems so didn’t leave Pirates Cove until around 10. We had 15 boats fishing yesterday. George Jean won, again, w/13+. Tater weighed in 2 fish Donnie B., angler of the year last year, weighed in 3 fish. Big fish was 5.81#. Next big fish was 4.25#.

Maybe today will be a better day.....

Well yall get them figured out by mid January.

I just came back from southwest Louisiana on a hunting trip and it was a blast. Layed down some deer and pork.

Now I'm back watching the reports just waiting on mid January to get here so I can come off deercation.

Sunday was a better day. I caught 3 on a rat-l-trap. Lost one on the trap that would'a got me a check. Caught a few short fish on a C'rig. Big fish(for me) was 3.82. Weighed in 8-something on three fish. That would'a got me 3rd place on Saturday. Today it didn't even get honorable mention. I was getting ready to trailer back while the weigh-in was going on so don't have a lot of information there. I think I saw where 13-14#s won it. There were a couple of 11# sacks and a 12# sack and some 10# sacks but no one hit the mother load. It was still a tough day just better than Saturday.

Probably won't fish the December 'T' as I'm fixing to pull injectors/rails of the ProXS and send'em to Florida for a clean/calibrate session. Still had what feels like a coil going in and out of service on Sunday so I gotta chase that down as well. Pretty sure the tracker valve is toast but the folks in Florida can figure that one out.
