I ordered some glass beads off of Amazon, 8mm just got back home and had a chance to check them out. They came from the arts and crafts section. Multi color, not sure how they will fish but they look great. 300 beads for $8.50. This is quite a bit less than what the fishing supply folks will do on them. Even came in a good plastic box.

@BayBoatFisherman we hadn't considered it when we bought, but think about if they can log the area. We have a place on a dead end road in a small cove with camps/houses on both sides of the road. Well, they clear cut the woods behind the camps across the street. This allowed the crack/meth heads or just low lifes access from the clear cut. I think 4 places were broken into. It may have been while we were at ours, because our permanent resident neighbor was out of town, called me around 230 am saying his alarm went off. I went check it out after I grabbed my pistol, but didn't see anything so went back to the camp. I like being on a deadend with permanent residents.

@RonnieF That is really our of home owners, could happen to any of us. It is something to think about though.

Fished this morning from Hamilton bay to south of the bridge on the TX side.  C-rig, t-rig, spook, 1oz spinnerbait, football jig, and a crankbait.  Caught 2 rats and had maybe 6 bites.  Fished from 8ft-30ft.  A whole lot of suck.  Gonna have to switch it up tomorrow.

I will repeat! ?

What happened is with the absence of grass the bass adjusted...the Fisherman did not!

I agree with this.  I know the absence of grass is hard on me.  I am lost without the deep grass lines.  Pulled the plug on the weekend after a couple of days.  Catching 5-6 fish on half day trips ain't worth it to me when I can catch 20+ in South LA.  Fish I'm catching are healthy and solid 2.5-3.5 lbs but just so few bites. I'm Looking for a camp down south, closer to home and a lot more action.

@jcdogfish The bass are still around the same structure without the grass, do some graphing around the areas you knew held fish before.

There is still plenty of grass just not hydrilla, milfoil, & coontail.

I'm dizzy from graphing for 2 days?.  The farther north I go the more fish I am marking.  Wonder if this is a trend with the lack of grass? What worries me is I'm not catching small fish, that may pick up next month or so.  The lake has just been plain mean to me lately.  On the bright side, I'm sure learning how to adjust my units.

I'll be back the weekend before the 4th of July.  How long I stay depends on the fishing.

I was there this past Friday and Saturday. We caught about 20 fish Friday prefishing for a tournament.  Got 6 big bites that day and had 22-23lbs easily.  Saturday we got 6 big bites again, but could only put one of them in the boat.  She was a little over 5lbs and I had 2 more that I saw jump off that were well over 5lbs.  Frustrating to say the least, but still managed 15lbs and a 3rd place finish in a 60 boat tournament.  Should have had 23+ but it wasn’t our day I guess. Only took 16lbs to win.
