Much different than just a short 3 weekends ago. Has to be some grass or pads somewhere holding the early top water bite? Sure ain’t Blue Lake anymore. Look in the back end of San Miguel for grass and pads and buck brush early morning top water bites.  Even with the lake down you should still find some. 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted May 14, 2018 Author Super User Posted May 14, 2018 Everything I'm hearing is deep water 15-30'.  @FlukeJr 3 months ago the lake was at 169' which is normal Quote
FlukeJr Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Thanks A5, I’ll explore the back of San Miguel Thursday and report back. 2 Quote

jcdogfish Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 If any of yall run across a nice bream bed and don't mind posting it, I'd appreciate it. I usually fish the south end from Indian mounds south on the texas side. Gonna try to get the grandkids on a few. 1 Quote
A5BLASTER Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 The first two coves on the south side of San Miguel just as you pass San Miguel park headed to the back of San Miguel normally has two or three huge bream beds in them. 2 Quote

Hope that helps and good luck. 1 Quote
jcdogfish Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Thanks guys. There are usually some on the south side of miles in six mile and back of gilleys point. Jacks is a short run to check that out. 1 Quote

FlukeJr Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 Who’s fishing with the other 4,000 nuts in the Sealy Big Bass Splash this weekend? 1 Quote
RCCA Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 Not me. I'm out. Rather go clean up the other camp on the Mississippi in preparation for the falling water and a bite on every cast or so. Good luck, though. 1 Quote

Amateur Hour Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 Going pick up my boat today.  Hopefully this will be the last time at the shop for a while.  Next weekend isn’t looking very good weather wise.  Maybe the following weekend I can get up there. 2 Quote

Amateur Hour Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 I need some help for a friend. He has a trip planned with Jason Courville next month and wants to book a trip with a different guide too. He is looking for someone that uses their electronics a lot so he can learn more of that. Any suggestions? I know Gleason has a good reputation but any others I should suggest to him? Thanks. Bass_Fanatic Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 What kind of electronics does he have? I guide on Toledo and Rayburn and I specialize in Humminbird electronics.  I can help with Lowrance too, but I know birds better.  If he’s interested, tell him to give me a call.  We’ve been catching lots of fish for the past month.  I’ve taken a few guys from this forum too if you need any references. Thanks man.  Josh Sikes 318-308-5818 2 Quote
Amateur Hour Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 Thanks Josh. I have passed on your info. His last name is Clark.   Quote

I went out with Jason about 2 weeks ago for just an electronics class on my Lowrance 9ti. I was happy at the end of the class, found out what I was looking at. We fished at a couple of the stops and what he was showing where good fish. We went in my boat, so it was on my electronics. 2 Quote
RCCA Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 Blaster, I hope you feel better soon. Whatever you do... DO NOT have back surgery. Went in with one bad leg came out with two. Still suffering almost two years later. 1 1 Quote

RCCA Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Had orthroscpoic surgery on my knee in 88. No complaints there. Also, I should have been more specific. No fusion back surgery. Hope you feel better. Grind it out like me but it's definitely discouraging. I should change my name to Joe The Grinder ? Haha gotta laugh... ? Hope ya'll have a great weekend. They caught an 11 something and 10 something today. Pretty cool. 3 Quote
