Today was another great day on Toledo. The wind was brutal, but the Minn Kota Ultrex earned its keep today. We caught 45 fish today all coming from 15-28’ deep. Top 5 weighed 21.5lbs. I also had one jump off that was easily over 8lbs. Then my next cast I caught a 6.5lber. I love when they are offshore,

Just back from TB.  Was there for a club tourney 3/2-3/4 then stayed for the BASS Central Regional 3/5-3/9 and wanted to return something to this thread after gleaning so much from it.  For the club tourney found them biting well shallow with water temps at 63 mornings to 67 in the afternoon.  Punching hay grass and flipping the brush with beavers would get you bit pretty regularly using sapphire in the muddy water and black light in clearer water.  Picking up a spinnerbait or chatterbait in white would get you bit out in front of the brush.  I stunk it up with poor results but my son Chad won with 19# on Saturday and 13# on Sunday in Hurricane.  The Regional started Wednesday with cooling water temps around 59.  My day 1 boater took us to Patroon (through very large waves) to flip brush which netted him 15# on 5 fish and 10# on my 3 fish.  Day 2 boater took us to Housin flats which he struggled with a little but got me 11# for my best 3 caught on a Mattlures gill and a chatterbait.  My day 3 boater took us out on the deep water next to Bass_Fanatic We got some good ones before the wind kicked up and we had to leave.  Without that Ultrex fighting the waves became impossible.  Get one!  Finished out in Nagreet with 14# for my boater and only 7# for me on cranks deep and flipping shallow.  All in all a very fun but exhausting trip on one of the greatest bass lakes in the world.  Met some new friends and learned a lot.  My three day weight allowed me to take the top Texas non boater spot and move on to the National which I hear is a pretty cool deal.  If anybody is going in the coming days feel free to pm me and I’ll answer any questions I can.  Bert

Congrats and great report.

I need some help guys.  I installed my ultrex yesterday and after installation I noticed this crack on the motor.  What would you guys do?  Would let it go or ask for a new one?

I spoke to the guy that sold it to me and that piece is a separate piece.  So, they will send me a new cone to replace the cracked one.  Thanks.

Hi guys, going to try fishing in Lowes creek for the first time. Any suggestions on what and where? Thanks!

Finally got to the bend Friday and Saturday!! Fished San Miguel and Lanan areas. Stayed shallow and caught fish flipping a black red flake jay bug. Also caught a few on senko a and wacky rigs. Fished the very backs of pockets and cypress trees. Caught very few out of the button willows. Far as  I can tell the first small wake of fish have spawned and the next wave are staging. Next outing I will move out a little and try for the staging and post spawn fish. Sounds like I need to head to deep water after bassfanatics report!! Good to be back on the bend !!

Sorry for the absence a month of straight nights was not what I had planned. So serious question. I’m going north of the bridge for my 2nd time ever tomorrow. How does a south wind effect the Louisiana side up there. La nana specifically

You can hide in la nana pretty easily. The south bank has some good points on it and the north bank has a couple bridges you can get behind with bushes and docks close by to fish.

Bass_Fanatic hit it right on the head, I can't add much more then that.

Now San Miguel with a south wind you better know how to handle a boat it gets ruff quick with a south wind.

Hope this helps.

@Skeeterzx2001

And to everyone else

Y'all must be a tap bit more detailed in requesting help.

There are 3 or 4 Mill Creeks, which one ya wanna talk about?

Since you're at Paradise Point I'm assuming Mill Creek on the Texas side near the south end.

Yes mill creek south . im staying at paradise point looking for grass close by. but i hear its all in housen. is this correct

There is grass in Mill, it’s just not as thick as it is in housen.

Fished today once again in the mid lake area. The bite was slow and a lot of my schools of deep fish finally started making a push up towards the shallows.  We grinded all day picking up one here and one there, although bites were a lot harder to come by, the size was still there.  Big fish today was just under 7lbs. Deep cranking, Carolina rigs, and fb jigs in 15-25’

@Bass_Fanatic hiding the back ground from me ?

Hahaha.

I am struggling beyond belief. Not a bite this morning, not a BITE. I fished several different baits at depths of 2-14'.

I hate the Spring bank beating and it looks like I should not have gave up on my offshore spots so soon.

I'm not even seeing any fish move around up shallow. Caught a 3 1/2 in about 4' yesterday evening after the NINE MILLION tournament fishermen got off the pond. But it's strange not be catching the buck bass shallow on a weightless senko and that has not happened for me.

My camp is in Lowes and it has been beat to death and back.
