My best answer Nitro is,,I don't have a clue.  I saw a lot of bait in the back of small feeder coves a couple of weeks ago and this weekend they are gone.  Saw lots of large bait balls in the mouths of main creeks this weekend.  Don't know which way they are going. I'm considering running up there this week, pick up the boat, and get the camp ready for winter.  I'll hit the reset button in January and start over.

Does anyone know the water temp around Housen or 6-mile? Thanks in advance. I may head up there tomorrow.

69 saturday morning, warming up a little during the day 71-73.  May be a degree or two cooler today as it was going down a degree or so every couple days. a little cooler at the main lake.

It was 64 to 69 in Sandy Sunday with that cut to the bone East wind.

Sorry Nitro, I'm not sure which way they are headed either. Just when I think I know, another front passes and people start catching them 25 to 35 feet while I'm fishin' shallower than that.

I think Joe's report may be a week behind. I saw someone mention that earlier.

Wow, it been almost three weeks since I have been to the bend. The last couple on months have been tough for me. Fished Wednesday and started off a little slow till about 9. Figured the moon may have affected the morning bite.  Went looking deep and found a couple of small schools. Ended up with around 20 or so and 15 nice crappie by 2. At around 3 till 5 o'clock I caught a fish on every cast. They were crushing a 5xd in sexy shad. No big ones but all were between 2 and 3 lbs. Fat.... Fat....Fat !! Should only get better with the next front cooling the water down. Should get them schooled up better.

The times I've caught 75-125 per day was during the fall

I have had similar experience more than once in the fall. One time I left and loaded up because I was tired of catching fish. I don't doubt him one bit. I caught mine a little differently though. They were at about 30 ft. and I used a flutter spoon.

I believe that, but I don't believe you only casted 75-125 times those days :)

I know Bryan & have no reason to doubt him!

Best I've ever done was

Bass caught on consecutive cast: 27

Bass caught off a single stump: 17

Fished this morning from the north island in pirates cove to kites wall. Me and my buddy only managed to catch 5 fish. 4.10lbs being the biggest. Water temp was 65. No schooling activity there. Each fish was scattered. Throwing top water and jerk bait. Did get hammered by a big goo on a dock with my jerkbait. Thought for a minute I was going to be headed to a certified scale. Heartbreaking!

I caught 17 yesterday from 10-2. Carolina rigged flukes and baby swamp hogs. Some were 10" fish and had a few 2.5-3 lb fish. Hit a wind blown point and hooked up with a nice one. It danced and threw my crankbait. It looked to be 5-6 lbs. Oh well, I got to see it.

Hey Folks! New to this Forum. Coming down from NW Arkansas in a few weeks. Trying to get a feel for what I'm getting into when I get there. I see the lake is down a bit. Is there still plenty of grass to be fished? We are staying at Finn and Feather. Is Housen a good place to start? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Welcome. Grass is slim. Housen has the most I've seen. Good luck.

Seems like the south end is where to be. Looks like you are having the same issues we are. Unseasonably warm. I think they are a little confused. Hopefully the cold spell coming up will get them moving. Thanks for the info. I'll be keeping an eye on this forum til we get there. Good luck and tight lines.

I was fishing an old reliable ridge with a creek close by for the numbers. 15' on top and around 20' on the sides. The nice one I lost was on a point that runs south with a south wind blowing into it. The point was a main lake point, the ridge was in San Miguel.

A lot tougher this weekend for me. Only fished a little here and there due to yard work. I hate leaves. Couldn't find any stacked up. All fish that were caught were on the small side. Bite was very funny. Not very aggressive.

Hello All, Would like some input/advice. I live in Shreveport and have decided to start fishing at TB instead of Caddo Lake. Will be launching out of Circle Drive. Any general areas on the north end that yall can tell me about that will get me started? Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome. I traded Caddo for The Bend too. If you like fishing shallow then the 1215 area is for you. More central but I love it, myself.

Sorry Thumbs, I'm still trying to figure that out. I'll let you know when I do.
