Wesley Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Well guys with 81 fish going over 10 in the last year, Toledo has been ranked the #1 fishery by Bassmaster. We also have #5 on the list within easy driving distance. http://www.shreveporttimes.com/story/news/local/2015/06/16/exclusive-toledo-bend-earns-bassmasters-fishery/28847615/ 1 Quote

Bass_Fanatic Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I'm looking to join a good bass club. Any recommendations? I'm in southern boyz bass club. We are from central La. We fish Toledo a couple times a year and have done well in the best six the past few years, coming just short of winning. You can go to our website southernboyzbassclub.com to check it out Quote
RCCA Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Cool. I know two of the members very well. Top notch people, as you seem to be. Quote

Many Boy Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Fanatic, Sorry I'm at work and not able to fish the fruit jar. I missed the last one due to illness and was looking forward to getting together with everyone. Thanks for y'all's efforts in getting people together, I hope there's a good turnout and hopefully I can catch the next one. 1 Quote

Super User Catt Posted June 20, 2015 Author Super User Posted June 20, 2015 Ok y'all! There is talk starting about a Back Potato Classic for next year on the Bend, my question is what's your favorite time to fish the Bend? Personally I like summer, deep water, flipping, pitching, & punching grass! Quote
RCCA Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 I like the prespawn the most but anytime is a good time to go to The Bend. Hope y'all are having a good time with the Fruit Jar! Quote
Many Boy Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 I'm with you Catt, summer pattern but before it gets too blazing hot! What's a Back Potato Classic by the way?? Quote
Super User Catt Posted June 20, 2015 Author Super User Posted June 20, 2015 Excuse me, fingers fast than the brain Baked Potato Classic is a Bassresource get together! Quote
RonnieF Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 I like summer also. The weather's usually a little more stable except for those pop up showers. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I'm a big fan of early summer (May-early June). And for those wondering, the fruit jar went great! Bullet20 (Phil) made it and was a pleasure to meet and a dang good fisherman! We had 28 boats show up, paid $1400 for 1st place. I ended up in 2nd. Winners had 22lbs and I had 20lbs. There were a lot of 15-18lb bags brought in. Phil got a check too coming in 4th. Quote
bullet20 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Yes it was good meeting u to, was a good turn out wasn't expecting that many.Look like a bunch of good guys and some nice stringers for this time of year. we caught a bunch of fish but got our better bits in the afternoon and ran out of time. we mostly did some flipping. made a long run south with no avail should of just stayed where we started, on the return we got the better bites late. Quote
jcdogfish Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Glad the tournament went well. Looks like some good stringers too. I did not do well this weekend, could not get bit much on the deeper stuff i've been fishing. Maybe the rise pushed them up shallower, I don't know. 9 fish all day saturday. I'll be at the next baked potato classic and like may-early june too. I do think there might be more participation in march. Does not matter to me. I can stink it up any month they choose. Hope we get a good turnout. Quote
bullet20 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I like the days that iam off, working 14 n 14 now I miss alot, I can't make our club tournment s anymore this year so I may fish this tournament s that pop up.lol Quote
