RCCA Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 I'll ask another question just to keep this sweet baby rollin'.... Did or are they going to replace the boat lane buoys that were missing in Housen when I was there in February? Makes it hard on a rookie to the area. Also, is there a site that has accurate GPS coordinates for boat lane buoys in case they didn't? One more... what in the hades is a safe water buoy??!! Quote
RCCA Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Also, I hope y'all have stock in the bait companies mentioned on here lol Quote
ATX Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Looks like someone ran into one in mill creek. That probably left s mark. Quote
RCCA Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 To me this looks like a great place to fish in Housen. It's the island just East of the flats. Quote
RCCA Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 I tried to send a screenshot of the spot but I couldn't get it to work... Quote
RCCA Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Wow, when it worked it worked... machine gun Kelly. Same spot. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 That the island at the south point going into hurricane I think. It can be good around there at times. I went today for 5 hours and caught a little over 40. Mostly smaller fish with some 3lbers mixed in. Hooked one good fish over 6lbs but she came up and spit my crankbait. If you can find em right now you can catch a bunch, they as stacked up tight! Quote
Super User Catt Posted May 30, 2015 Author Super User Posted May 30, 2015 Can not zoom in on the screen shots but I agree with Bass_Fanatic. There is a treeline & creek channel just east off it, don't deep crank it! The buoys shoukd get replaced but when is the question. I don't use GPS to run Never heard of "safe water buoy"? Quote
RCCA Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Nice job Fanatic. I'm jealous. That's exactly where the picture is. Thank y'all for the advice. I never heard of a safe water buoy either. They show up on navionics. Quote
jcdogfish Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 You are right Fanatic. When you find them they are stacked up. Made a trip late Friday, one Sat morning and another saturday afternoon. Caught all my fish in one 30 yard stretch. Probably over 150 fish total. Tried a few other places and caught one here and there. 1 Quote
jcdogfish Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 Also, I hope y'all have stock in the bait companies mentioned on here lol Don't know but Gary Yamamoto is getting richer off of me this year. Quote
RCCA Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 I'm all stocked up on them. They're hard to beat. I did order some Berkley Havoc Flat Dawgs to try. They say more salt and less coin than a Senko. We'll see how they work. Quote
capierrottie2 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Been away for a few years due to a transfer to PA for work, but finally back down south. Looking forward to fishing the Bend again. Made a night fishing trip this weekend to the Bend and here are my results. Only got to fish 2 hours due to heavy storms. Spent most of the night in an abandoned boat shed trying to keep dry. Looking forward to reading and contributing to the thread again. FISHING REPORT Date: Saturday May 30th Area: Jessie Low - focused on pockets of grass on flats Depth: 10-12 ft Baits: Carolina rigged baby brush hogs and fluke Color: Watermelon Gold Glitter Bass: 12 total keepers in 2 hours. 4 spots and 8 large mouth. Most all were 2 to 3lb footballs with one about 4lbs All caught in a 50 yard stretch of spotted grass. Quote
mguidroz Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Its been awhile since I've been to the lake (3months) way to long. I brought my 10 year old son fishing Thursday from 12 to 5pm. He caught his first TR bass in 20fow. I concentrated on secondary point in 18 to 22 fow adjacent to grass. We fished 3/16oz TR with watermelon/red baby brushhogs. 18 fish total with a 4# and 6# kicker. All but one was a keeper. I fished a little different. I positioned my boat in 12 to 15 fow and casted to 18 to 22. All fish bit when the bait was still. We had a great time. Keep the reports coming and I will do the same. BF said they are stacked and I found the same thing. If you get bit slowdown and fish the area. Be Safe Marcel Quote
bullet20 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Seen 3 channel marker up against the banks.Be careful out there. Quote

jacob2000 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Where would the bass be located as far as depth is concerned this time of year? Quote

RCCA Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Well, I finally made it! Fished Housen until the storm ran me off! Caught 3. Biggest was 2.5. Junebug Recon worm. BASF booked all of Fin and Feather so I'm staying in Lanana. Hope to give a better report tonight and tomorrow. Seems like the East wind and rain comes here every time I do. Quote
