Had 18 keepers by 11am this past friday. 3/4 of them on topwater. The rest on wacky and jerkbaits. Midlake. Went back out after the rains around 1pm and caught 15-20 thirteen inch fish with 5 keepers. Had to end the day early around 3pm. Best 5 went 19#s. Most of the fish had eggs.

4/17 we put 18 keepers in the boat from sun up to 5pm. Frogs, wacky, and jigs. Jigs, bama rigs, and fb jigs seemed to be the best in 8-15 ft mainlake humps for the past two weeks. Weather has to be right to get them fired up for the frog bite. Need a good wind.

Wow, this is where I could really use help.  I rarely ever fish off shore.  I have very low confidence in all of that open water.  I'm typically a shallow water fisherman (7ft and below) and it's killin me on some of my trips.  I think I saw most of the boats on Toledo fishing out in the main lake.  I was thinking surely if the fish are out there they are going to be along the hay grass lines but that wasn't the case at all for us this last trip.

Someone sent me 2 spinnerbaits & a swim jig, the spinnerbaits are thin wire so they should have plenty of thump & the jig has big hook for a 3/16 oz.

Wesley I heard about that ;)

Fished this past Friday and Saturday. Caught some on a deep point with DD22's Friday morning and some on spinner baits. Saturday was tough after the ran , but managed to catch some nice ones on swim baits.

Well guys, got back from fishing the Best 6 on Toledo last night.  Had a rough practice on Thursday and Friday.  Couldnt find anything over 3lbs deep or shallow on the south end but were still confident the big bite would come from the south end of the lake.  We sent a team shallow flipping to catch some 3lb fish and my partner and I went deep looking for a big bite.  Around noon, my boat only had one fish over 3lbs in it so we decided to run north for the last 3 hours and fish ledges and it payed off.  Pulled up to a ledge and caught 4 fish over 3lbs and lost one over 4lbs.  Scrapped up a 36.24lb limit on day one.  Day two I decided to go blind and look for a frog bite early around midlake then ledge fish the rest of the day.  We caught alot of fish on frogs including two 4lbers and three 3lbers.  Then we went looking deep once again.  About noon I pulled up to some piles and immediately caught a 3lber.  Then my partner caught a 7lber on the next cast and as he was getting her out of the net I flipped another 3lber in the boat.  Weigh in was at 2 on Sunday, so we didnt have long.  I decided to leave and go back to a point we broke off on a fish over 4lbs and let the piles rest for 15 minutes.  When we got back on the piles we had 30 minutes left to fish and we caught a 3lber and then I hooked into one of the biggest fish Ive ever hooked.  I couldnt turn her head and could just feel her shaking her head down in 25 ft of water.  She ended up spitting it and broke my heart.  I have no doubt she was 8+ possible over 10.  Got to the weigh in and our other boat had just dropped one over 7lbs in the last 10 minutes too.  Ended up jumping up to 3rd place, just could get the winning fish in the boat.  All in all it was a great weekend considering Thursday and Friday we were on absolutely nothing!  Wishing I could fish Basschamps this coming Saturday as Im pretty confident I could catch 25-30lbs out of a few brushpiles, but looking like Im going to have to work so Ill have to save one big one for the Macdonald's in two weeks.

Good weekend BF, You gonna have to show me how to find those productive ledges.  It was nice to be able to fish out in the lake, don't get a chance to do that too often with the wind.  I fished a spot I marked last June and had a good day Saturday.  Had one 7#10oz, a 5, a couple of 4's and some 2-2.5's.  All the nice fish came making the same cast on the same spot.  Caught some there last summer too, something is there holding them.  Or something close is bringing them in.  I really am clueless why they are there, looks like a thousand other places on sonar but something has got to be different.

Awesome weekend jcdogfish! I could have used the 7lber lol. Sounds like you've found a spot on a spot. Most of the time spots like that just continue to replenish and you can catch fish on it for years to come.
