Thanks Josh & Brian. I guess the wind will dictate where I fish. I keep saying I will trailer down south, but if conditions are tough I will spend a lot of time second guessing my decision.

If anyone is up there mid week keep an eye out for me.

Good news folks! The Official Unofficial 2015 Bass Resource Road Trip will be held at Toledo Bend on March 18th thru 23rd.  It will be held at the Fin & Feather Resort on Housen Bay.  It is not a tournament, but we will have a biggest Bass contest.  You are all invited.  Go to the General Bass Fishing page to locate the Official Unofficial thread.

Caught 19 bass from noon til 5 pm yesterday. 1 on a 6xd sexy shad, 3 on a chatter bait and the rest on a Carolina rig trick worm, fishing a shelf/drop off into 25'. Biggest was 3.5.

RonnieF ;)

Ya gonna make the road time?

Hey everyone, been gone awhile.  Been busy as a bee.  Have to catch up on my reading.

Only fished for a couple hours this afternoon closer to the camp. Missed a couple on the Carolina rig but caught 2 monsters on a 10xd. The first was over 8 & the other was just over 7. Definitely an adrenaline rush! The pics are too big to post.

I'm pretty sure he meant the road trip. It's gonna be in march on Toledo bend this year.

And by the way, that 10xd is awesome! I've caught numerous fish over 7 this year on it. It catches pigs!! Congrats!

I'm sure I'll be up there for the "road trip" unless I have a tournament down south.

Hopefully it'll be on my days off. If so, I'll be there.

Yes, it is quiet.  Wonder how much rain they are getting and what will that do to the water temp and fishing?  I know it has a ways to go but I thought we were supposed to have a long cold winter.  I'm sure some cold is coming but winter is getting shorter all the time now.

It'll be after 1/4/15 before I can get back up there. I'm offshore now & get back in 12/31. Last week the water temp was 56-57 degrees in San Miguel and also near clear creek.

Still haven't got a boat here. My boat should be ready this week so I can get back up there Friday!

Catt....can we start another winter topic? Ill pick the creek......Six Mile in the winter. If you were goug to fish it this time of year, where would you focus? What are you looking for? Oh btw everyone.....Merry Christmas!

My focus would be on the weather ;)

Next would be creek channels that swing in near shore.

I'll be fishing a high school tournament here in mid March so I've been studying up on the lake . So far I have read through the forum and studied online maps to try and get a feel of lake and the prespawn and spawn patterns. I'm from Kansas so I haven't had a ton of experience with this style of grass lake, but I feel like I have the knowledge to be able to at least catch fish. I guess I'll start my questions with what I should do as far as consistent locations (I don't expect specific more than a general area but anything would be great) due to the fact that I'll probably only be able to practice one or two days? From all the information I've gathered I plan to get in an area and stay there and figure the fish out. Is that a good plan, or should I try and find several areas throughout the lake? I've only fished large lakes on this scale a few times. Another more simple question I have is about spinnerbaits. Spinnerbaits seem to be pretty popular on Toledo, but what blade and color combinations produce in mid March?
