Bass_Fanatic Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Good luck this weekend guys! Â Ill finally be back out there Friday. Â Still debating if I want to go south and bed fish or stay midlake and fish deeper points and ridges. Â I know I can catch more fish and probably better fish midlake, because thats what I normally do, but wouldnt mind bed fishing south just to do it. Â Anyways, if yall decided to start a club, I would try and fish as many as I can. Â I already fish about 18 tournaments a year around here and on the Bend so I stay pretty busy, but if I get a weekend off I'd definatly fish with yall! Â The weather looks awesome this weekend. Â Cajun Ben and Wesley, if your fishing mid-lake or north of the bridge, dont overlook a frog and of course a buzzbait! Â Both are big fish baits that just flat out work this time of year. Â Quote

RonnieF Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 I guess I shouldn't say "that blows". I would've stayed in the camp & not chanced it. Quote

Super User Catt Posted April 9, 2014 Author Super User Posted April 9, 2014 Go back several pages to where we start talking pre-spawn, with each report in mind & map in hand. We should be able to visualize the parh of breaklines, ditches, drains, creeck channels used by bass to move shallow. Bass will use that same route back out to deeper water post spawn! This gives us the where? We need to figure the when, to do that we need time on the water! None of us has that much time to dedicate solely to fishing so we need help to gather this information. What we have is a tidy little network of guys who love fishing the Big Pond. This thread is about sharing recent experienes, putting together a lake pattern, & developing freindships. Quote
ToledoMard928 Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Finally getting a weekend without baseball. My fishing buddy and I will be heading up to the big pond Friday to fish the weekend. Hope to have some pics and a good report to post.  I would like to take the time again to thank the contributors to this thread. It has made me more aware of patterns and presentations that I would have normally not fished. It also helps when you have a small window of time to take a kid fishing to have accurate and up to date reports to help put him on fish.  Thanks for every ones input!! Bloodandguts Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Catt, you are so right. Great group of guys who are willing to share some info for the common good. Catt is right. There aren't many that can spend "every day" on the pond, so good truthful reports tell you what the fish are doing and that really helps you get a game plan going. Hats off to Catt, who started this out of the goodness of his heart. I heard a fella caught a limit before noon on a watermelon candy fluke in "the Pirate's area". That's all I could get out of him. Headed there Friday to pre-fish for a high school tourney on Sat. I'm thinking about going to 6 mile and see if I can find some bedded mommas. Any thoughts?? BnG Quote
ToledoMard928 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I just spoke to a fellow I work with who spent last Monday, post front, in Housen and 6 mile. He did not do well but spoke to a gentlemen who was catching well in six mile. I could not get any info about lure but he was shallow on beds. A couple of my fishing partners have had good days on roadrunners fishing for white perch in the coves. Bloodandguts Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Update. My contact fessed up and told me he limited out by noon in buck creek, "blind fishing the bank". ?? Quote
back water Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Has the storms and the rain muddied the water up pretty good on TB?? Quote
shaneus Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Housen has been a lot more friendly lately, not much good in 6 mile lately Quote
shaneus Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I have been fishing Big Sam here lately, last two club tournament have been over there....site fishing in housen during the week is awesome. do not even try on the weekend Quote
Super User Catt Posted April 10, 2014 Author Super User Posted April 10, 2014 I know 12-14 guys that live at their camps during pre-spawn/spawn but there are alot of tournaments right now so I got twist arms. Quote

Bass_Fanatic Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Fished the south end today looking for beds. Saw over 300 fish on beds and caught 24 solid fish. Most were 3lbs give or take with my big fish going a little over 5lbs. I probably saw 10 fish over 5lbs, wit the biggest fish I saw probably 10-12lbs. She just wouldn't lock on. I chased her around for awhile, but she kept cruising and going deep so I couldn't catch her. Did see another good 8lb fish or so,but she was really spooky. All in all, I had a blast! I don't sight fish often, so days like today are really cool to me! Quote
Many Boy Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Cool report! Ain't nothing more fun to me than playing with a bedded bass, unless its latching onto a 10-12 lbr! I bet tomorrow that south end is gonna look like Black Friday at Walmart!! I can't wait till next week, I hope I get to change my PB! Quote
