Bass_Fanatic Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 I need to learn Tennessee bay better apparently. I can catch fish out there, but rarely catch much size. Quote
BulletDon Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Feeling s little nostalgic I went up & fished Jesse Lowe & Tennessee bays. We caught 37 total with 7 in the 6# class, all came on Texas rigs. And no I aint telling y'all where   Catt, we all are curious, I, and I am sure a few others,  want to know all the details LOL, but I respect your statement and your decision to keep it to yourself.  Now that being said, tell us more of the details LOL. Glad you could get back out on the water. shaneus Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 as soon as I get home I will look on my map and I will give you some guesses...but until then I will fish around the house....caught a couple over 7 and a 5 and a three, and some little schoolies, not bad for 2 hours on the water Quote
Flippman Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Seven over 6 lbs!!!!... Awsome day there Catt MY goodness! Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 1, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 1, 2013 Looking @ Millionaire Point we anchored in 17' straight inline with the northern edge, we were casting towards Lowes Creek. One close to 6# came off of this spot. We next moved to the 22' hump east of the point & again cast towards the creek on the north side of the hump. Next was the hump just south of Cypress Slash (Hook-N-Line map), we fished the south & east point of this hump, this time we were casting towards the Sabine. Two 6s came off this hump! Next we moved to Tennessee Bay, starting just southwest of waypoint 52 on another hump, this hump is in the "Y" of the Sabine/Negreet. Two more 6s! Then we crossed back over to a little hump just east of White's point (north side of the mouth of Lowes), the hump is between the pipeline & roadbed. We were throwing Texas rigged ringworms in Camo & Redbug and Ragetail Lobster in Falcon Lake color. Even through we had 7 in the 6# class none broke 6#s. Quote
Bearonthewater Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Great information and report Catt. Â Also very glad to see you out on the water again having that kind of success..............Looks like your hump day came on the weekend? Â I was about to go back and research this thread for some hints..............cause I thought there was going to be another quiz session........darn! Â Guess everyone reading will be scrambling and looking at their Hook-N-Line maps........... Quote
Express Kid Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Great info Catt. Good day on the water hope next time the really big birls are home. Quote
Express Kid Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I mean big girls. You know we all like them big. Quote
shaneus Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 who wouldnt like a 35# stringer! i think catt fishes slower than all of us, after all he is the fish whisperer, he anchors and they come to him! Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 2, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 2, 2013 I don't fish slow! That was 8 spots fished in 14 hours, 3 I didn't list because 2 produced nothing & 1 produced tighteyes. Quote
RNG521VX Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Priceless tips Catt! I got a chance to do some scanning around millionaire point the other day when I lost my lower unit. Was gonna try to locate fish working the shad in the area with a jigging spoon while waiting on my tow but he showed up rather quickly. Quote

Super User Catt Posted October 3, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 3, 2013 A cold scheduled for Saturday not sure what if anything it'll do to the bass. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Im hoping they are active Saturday morning ahead of the front. Â I dont see it messing them up though, if nothing else, it should start to drop the water temps and get em more active in the coming weeks! Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 3, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 3, 2013 Water temps done dropped, aint sure how strong this front will be. Heard it'll hit during the day! Quote
RNG521VX Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Got a question for you gentlemen on deep water jigging... what seems to be the better way to present your jig? Do you hop it or drag it along the bottom? Do the seasons affect this method and/or type of structure you're fishing? Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 4, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 4, 2013 Unless I'm Flippin/Pitchin/Punchin I work my jig like a Texas rig. You have to establish what rhythm the bass want. Sometime it's fast, sometimes slow, sometimes short hops, sometimes high hops, sometimes ya gotta drag it. The seasons/structure does not matter, I establish rhythm first. Part of rhythm is rate of fall, I usually start with 3/8 oz & adjust accordingly. Which is strange because with a Texas rig I start @ 1/4 oz & seldom go up. Quote
bullet20 Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 Went sat. Till noon, had 5 for 17-18 lbs. Jig and plastic s .bite was slow only had about 8 bite s total.Housen area. Sun. Morning no bite.Dont know. What happen, I just post fronts condition's came quick.lol Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 8, 2013 Author Super User Posted October 8, 2013 Cold front will shut them down Quote
