Super User fishfordollars Posted November 16, 2010 Super User Posted November 16, 2010 good job, it was a tough day out on the bend. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted November 16, 2010 Super User Posted November 16, 2010 Catt, I think I know the hump you are referring to. Coming out of the creek it will be about 100 yards to your right(South) at about the second bouy coming out of the pocket. If it is this one, it was showing. Had a lot of grass on it and had a hogback running to the point behind it. Caught nothing but smaller kentucky bass off of it. Just about a foot of water over the top and had grass completely encircling it. The hogback also was covered with grass. There is a major drop off the north/main lake side of it. Quote
Super User Catt Posted November 16, 2010 Author Super User Posted November 16, 2010 Ok try this N 31.30629 W 93.69656 This hump does not show on any map, if the water level is around 170' and higher it will have 6 18 of water above it. With the lake level at 164.14' you should be able to walk around kicking dust. Mark it in your memory for later when the lake level returns 170' and above. Follow the shore south to N 31.29922 W 93.69956 This entire shore line from dirt shallow out to 8-10' is an excellent location for late fall, early pre-spawn, and pre-spawn bass. During winter if we have 3-5 days of stable weather I'll hit N 31.29944 W 93.69789 - N 31.29922 W 93.69956 with spinner baits or Rat-L-Traps. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted November 16, 2010 Super User Posted November 16, 2010 Thanks, Catt, will check it out and let you know. Quote

Corkpuller Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Been here since Sunday and ain't hooked the boat up yet, crummy weather and been on injured reserve since I got here. Pulled a muscle in my back Saturday at the house and Monday thought it was a bit better. So I thought wrong, brought a new battery to replace my crankin battery. I completed the task of hoisting that d**n thing out and in Monday mornin and made the back worse. Might get out tomorrow afternoon, gotta go home Friday. Next trip planned is first week of December. We ain't caught no water, still have to go to the Mounds, can't launch here at Lowes. Be sure and let me know if you head this way first of December. Take care, TT Quote
Bull Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Thanks Catt , can,t wait to try these spots out Quote

Corkpuller Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Thanks Jack, but I'm gonna go like hell til I can't. Had plenty pain pill days prior to my hip replacement. This deal is just a muscle pull and will be good in time I hope, still got the degenerative discs to deal with though. > I know you got a rough go at it yerself. Hell I'm still a year shy of 50 and brokedown. Quote

Super User Catt Posted November 21, 2010 Author Super User Posted November 21, 2010 SRA Louisiana Levels / Generating Schedules As of: 11/21/2010 6:30 AM Lake Level: 163.99 Generator 1: Currently shut down Generator 2: Currently shut down Spillway Gates: Closed Current Waterflow: 204 CFS Water Temperature: north 62-66 south 65-69 Schools of shad are off the main lake points & heading up into the creek channels & behind them are the bass. Shad are the major forage for bass during the winter months, bass will stay near by as the water temperature falls. Use your electronics to locate fish that will be in tighter school than summer bass. The bass feed very heavy before each approaching cold front so stay cocked, locked & ready to rock. Quote
JBF Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Catt, Thanks. I plan on fishing Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of the front this week. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.. JBF Quote

RonnieF Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Catt, I was talking about the reflective things while in the satellite mode. There are some on the NW side of Bug Island also. I guess the next time up there, i'll just have to motor over and check them out. Ronnie Quote

Ronnie Ronnie, have not checked the map, but the pipeline running west to east on the NW side of Bugg Island has some markings . Not sure if that could be it, just a thought. Jack Quote
