idrathrbfishn Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Catt; You have set the hook on another reader and I have taken the bait. I have read all 63 pages and still seek more of your knowledge, please keep it up.  Oh and by the way thanks Quote
idrathrbfishn Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Also thanks to fishfordollars for his post I cannot wait for more info and insight.  Quote
jsn Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Catt, you've talked about the pipelines in negreet, what attracts the fish to these structures? Quote
BassmanTX Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 This is a great long thread, long read, and great replies! Nebraska Hunting Jesses Hunting Fishing Blog Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 22, 2010 Author Super User Posted July 22, 2010 Pipelines & roadbeds are similar in that they form a breakline; I know two places one on the Texas side and one on the Louisiana side where the timber/brush from building the pipeline are piled up...killer hawg holes. Quote
lipripper16 Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Catt........ Thanks for all your info. I'm new to the forum but think its great. I have a question. You all talk a lot about the six mile area, but I'm curious as to what you would do farther North, (as detailed as you mapped out in your first post near Lowe's). Also, what changes could be expected between what the bass are relating to now and say late September/early October? Let's take any of the creeks north of the Pendelton bridge...............La Nana, San Miguel, or Patroon. Myself......in La Nana, the points just east of where the creek passes under the Hwy191 bridge looks like a starting point with TX rigged worms, cranks, etc. Am I too far back in the creek? Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 28, 2010 Author Super User Posted July 28, 2010 Ah yes the great divide, for years it has been argued back & forth as to which end of the lake is better. Many anglers fail to understand the diversity, complexity, & size of Toledo Bend & often divide it into only 2 or 3 areas but in reality it can be divided into no less than 5 distinct areas. The "1215" area located in the La Nana & San Miguel area is quite possible more well known than the Housen'/6-Mile area. In La Nana west of the Hwy 191 bridge I generally have better luck this time of the year on the north side from the western most 1215 cove out to the main lake. What changes could be expected between what the bass are relating to now and say late September/early October? Summer on the Bend is mid-June through early October depending of course on weather patterns and the heat will keep the bass in deep water until late October. Texas rigs, Carolina rigs, Drop Shots, & Shakey Heads with plastics in Red Bug, Plum Apple, or Cran Apple. Right now nights are hands down better than days Quote
fishingcajun Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I would like to thank Catt and the others again. I have been using your deep water patterns and searching out the spots that may not be as well known. I happen to have found one such place that hopefully will still hold some bass for the Sept. Oilman's. Caught and released some very good fish there. Hope to buy a little better electronics this spring. After fishing the AFL as a co-angler and watching them use their Lowrance HD-10, it almost doesn't seem fair !!. I know you still have to make them bite and catch them. But they really work great reading bottom contour. Catt, not much of a night guy, but my buddy has been asking me to go. We will be up this weekend working on the camp. Any suggestions, mid-lake area. Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 28, 2010 Author Super User Posted July 28, 2010 If it is a little windy @ night Rattle Head 1/2 oz #5 Gold Colorado, the head is black with red eyes and red gill, the skirt is Purple with red flake and 6 strands of Chartreuse. Quote
BulletDon Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Oh my god. I stumbled on this site about 3 weeks ago and forgot to book mark it. Then I asked from some help and some sent it to me. I have read all 63 pages and it has taking me over 3 days totaling about 6 hours. Praise is not enough for what everyone has done, especially Catt. There are specifically three people that have been consistent through, we all know Catt. However the other two are fishfordollars aka Jack and Wesley. I fish Toledo in the Mid 90's for about 2 years and will be back in September. I am soaking all of this up. Catt, Your knowledge and expertise of this lake is stunning, I am in awe. I would love to send you a recorder so that you can start and one end of the lake and go all the way around it and talk of your experiences and what you have found. Then break it down in pieces. My suspense hangs on every word that you type and say. From your consistent repeating of specific baits and your depth of fishing: 15' +-3 Fishing uphill Five rods and the baits associated with each. There is just so much information here it is unbelievable. I still have to read the other posts that you referenced via links. I will be down there mid Sept and would be honored to share my seat in my boat with you. I may have left some people off the praise list and if I did I do apologize, but the ones that kept sticking out over and over and over are Catt, fishfordollars aka Jack Wesley My hats off to you for wanting to pass on your knowledge for others. I have now book marked it as a favorite and will continue to view it daily. Sorry for the long post God Bless and Good fishing. Donnie Quote

Super User Catt Posted July 30, 2010 Author Super User Posted July 30, 2010 I up between 2-4 am every morning...Housen' & 6-Mile are a work still in progress for me Quote
BulletDon Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Where is white oak located? I am having a hard time locating it on the map. Oh another question. The pro that you were refernecing earlier was it Tommy Martin or the Mud bug king (I cant remember his name?) Quote
TBendBassin Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 donnie white oak is in the the back of sandy creek.. if you go to acme mapper these are the coordinates of the white oak boat launch N 31.21151 W 93.73335 Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 31, 2010 Author Super User Posted July 31, 2010 One must clear when asking directions to certain locations on Toledo Bend since there are more than one location with the same name. White Oak Creek boat launch is also located at N 31.31072 W 93.69773 on the same point & same road (Farm road 130) as Indian Mounds just on the western side. I belonged to 2 bass clubs whose members included John Torian, John Hall, John Dean, Villis P "Bo" Dowden SR, Harold Allen, Larry Nixon, Tommy Martin, & Zell Roland. Quote
TBendBassin Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Man Catt, you are up early.First I would like to know where those two brushpiles you spoke of in an earlier post that are on or near the pipeline 8-) Dissecting more of Six mile and Housen to start.
