I saw 68 degrees just south of your pocket. I never made it around the corner to go check it out. I had mixed results last week. Chatterbaits one day, flashy head spinner w/small Houdini swimming fluke one day, & wacky worm another day. I had one day I saw multiple bass blow up/come out the water busting 1.5" shad and couldn't buy a bite with anything. I think I remember you talking about a 1/8 rattle trap, that might have been perfect, but didn't have anything that small. I tried 1/4 oz without success. Main lake fog was really bad quite a few days. My buddy had to idle back to LaNann from Clear Creek. He cut straight across the lake because of people running by GPS not able to see 50 yards ahead. 2 Quote

I haven't been on the water yet this year. Made a few cast off the bank in front the house but that's about it. 2 Quote

Clinton john Posted Wednesday at 07:52 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:52 PM Does anyone know if Rayburn is at normal water levels? I'm done with SRA and having no water for the spawn, boats on the trailer and I'm looking for water to fish. The big pond isnt worth the effort anymore. Quote
Super User Catt Posted Wednesday at 11:34 PM Author Super User Posted Wednesday at 11:34 PM Really 😉 Quote
Clinton john Posted Thursday at 03:24 AM Posted Thursday at 03:24 AM 3 hours ago, Catt said: Really 😉 Yes. Really. No water for the fish to be on the banks and getting to be to much of a hassle to get the tug on the trailer. All the beds I have seen since late February. Are now dry ground If I can't fish the brush, Im looking for other waters to fish now. I just do not enjoy bass fishing out in deeper water anymore. I can do it, I have the right gear, but I just don't enjoy it at all. Quote
Super User Catt Posted Thursday at 12:19 PM Author Super User Posted Thursday at 12:19 PM @Clinton john Historically speaking the average annual lake level is 169/170'. The bass will adjust to the current lake level, the angler needs to adjust. The nests you saw had no eggs on them, too early in the year. Just like when all the grass died, everyone claimed the lake was fished out. The bass moved from grass to wood, the angler did not. 1 Quote
LovestoFish Posted Thursday at 01:33 PM Posted Thursday at 01:33 PM Was there last week and there was at least 2 feet in the bushes mid lake tx side. Looks like it only dropped .3 feet since last week 1 Quote

Corkpuller Posted Thursday at 02:50 PM Posted Thursday at 02:50 PM DITTO what Cat said. I prefer the lake to be down around 167. When it's up, all my trees dissappear. For many years the lake never reached full pool. In fact, the big drought around 2010-2012 was followed by some of the best fishing this lake has ever seen. 1 Quote
LovestoFish Posted Thursday at 02:51 PM Posted Thursday at 02:51 PM Some of the best advice I've gotten in this thread (Catt 😉) is to target prespawn fish. This is great information that applies directly to your situation. 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted Thursday at 04:30 PM Author Super User Posted Thursday at 04:30 PM @Clinton john You hang around this thread be prepared to get picked on! Believe me nobody loves fishing buck brush more than me. The year I ever had on the Big Pond was 2007 when the lake was 15' low. Quote
