Yea we need the rain bad. The lake is still 2 1/2 feet low of where I really like it to be for the spawn.

I really like it low but I also like water in the buck brush.

Yea ground was muddy and I couldn't get a grip for the hookset lmao.

On a side note. Fish was in 1 1/2 of water and had eggs. Disnt want to keep it but she had taken the hook so deep it was in her throat.

Be a few days before I'm back on the big pond.

Down in my home town blasting ducks(2 man limit this morning) and hogs for a few days. Then time to hit the water and start ripping lips ?

Good job, you blasting that A5?  If the ducks ever come back around here Ima get me one of them. Three bad years in a row duck hunting so next year they can kiss my tail feathers and my duck stamp goodbye lol ? Rather just fish all year and that’s what’s about to happen ?

No I retired my Belgium mag duck a few years back. I shot a bertta 390 now.

I would bass fish during the winter but I like to eat ducks and deer during the summer.

Got to make them sacrifices lol.

I understand both sides of it. Never thought I’d quit hunting but I can‘t do it all anymore. Got to pick the one I like the most and that hurts the least lol

I made the same choice 10 years ago when we got the camp up there. Occasionally I miss the time BS’n with buddies in the blind, but lack of birds makes the choice that much easier.

Can anyone confirm. Was told the big pond gave up a 11.98 pounder today.

Was told it was checked in on the texas side of the lake.

Ain't heard that one ?

I haven’t heard, but I wouldn’t doubt it.  The lake is about to be putting out some big fish!  We caught 44 Friday morning mostly all on a dropshot and a blade bait.  We found fish on prespawn stops, but also had some better fish still in a winter pattern in 34’ of water.  Give it a couple of weeks and it’s going to bust wide open.

Yea I googled the usual sites and didnt see any talk of it.

Guy my dad use to work with said it was his brother and they checked it in on the texas side.

But I couldn't find anything posted anywheres.

Wouldn’t blame a soul for not reporting it.  Wouldn’t doubt it either. Might even be a Pinocchio Fish. Complex world, now days ?

Fish that size dont go unreported or official weighted in on toledo bend lake.

You get free replicas of bass over 10lbs on the la side and 12lbs on the tx side when you have them official weighted.

Since I cnat find any report of it, its 100% bs on that catch.

Well, the weatherman was wrong again Friday.  It was no rain in the forecast and a high of 56.  It never got above 43 and sleeted on us for an hour.  We called it quits before noon because my clients didn’t have their rain slickers.  Ended up with 29 around Six Mile on drop shots and Arigs in 26’.

Being a weatherman is the best job to have. You can be wrong and still keep your job. Great you hooked up still. What was the water temperature?
