I have a lake house on Toledo and fish as often as I can. I really get frustrated with the common names that locals use for certain fishing areas, and without local knowledge, you never figure out where they are talking about. Well, in effort to not I cry about it and develop something useful, I created a google KMZ file that has all of the Toledo Bend fishing spot names that I know of. I will share with you to allow for others to fill in their local fishing spot names that I missed. If you add to the KMZ, change the version of the KMZ and re-upload it, for example, Toledo Bend Maps version 2. I hope this works. Toledo Bend Maps.kmz Ok all, I took the file created by Toledo Banger and converted it to a GPX file and a .USR file. The USR file should load to a SD card and then to a Lowrance plotter. If there is intrest I will see what I can do for the Hummingbird users out there. Found the info on doing the converions on this link: https://doctorsonar.com/blogs/educational-articles/12390197-google-earth-and-lowrance-waypoints Thank you @Toledo Banger USR Common Names.usr Common Names.gpx Edited February 20, 2019 by BayBoatFisherman correction for fat fingers 1 1 Quote

All I get in Google Earth is a picture of the globe @Catt, in the top left (the port side) of the screen you should see Toledo Bend Maps.KMZ (orginal file) or GPX if you used the one I uploaded. If you do not see that select file at the top and load, find the file you saved on your computer, hilight it and select open. Now you should see the names listed, double click one and it will take you to that location on the map. Heading back up Thursday, look like it will be anogther wet one for me, but it still beats work. I get off work at 5pm if you want to try and work through it. This is going to be really nice once we all get it to working right. 1 Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 BTW guys, if anyone here is interested in an intense electronics learning weekend where you will learn mapping, image interpretation, and establishing patterns in a classroom setting along with a half day trip in the boat to put into practice what you learn in the classroom, please contact me ASAP. We will be doing this at Cypress Bend on May 9-11. We only have 12 spots left available. 4 Quote

Any chance you will do this say on a yearly base's. Will be sometime before I can upgrade my electronics but once I do I would be in the class for sure. 1 Quote

If all goes well this round, I plan on doing this atleast once a year. I do a lot of electronic trips in the boat and I teach electronic classes in the classroom, so we will see how it goes putting them both together. I think it will be the best of both worlds. 4 Quote

DandY Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Hi to everybody on this thread. I just found this forum a few days ago! I have a house in the Hickory Ridge area. I am sure hoping y'all can give me some pointers on where to fish. My productivity has been very poor of late and I have decided that this spring and early summer I am going to fish hard and reverse that trend. So I'll be stalking around trying to get some pointers from the people on this thread on where to fish and what my wife and I should throw at them. 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 21, 2019 Author Super User Posted February 21, 2019 @DandY How y'all are? Welcome aboard! I think we can help ? Quote

Scot Ferguson Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 My trip to TB is only 3 weeks out. Been pouring over maps......packing wheel bearings......servicing gear....etc. Excited to be back on the big pond after 22 years away from it. I'll be staying in San Patricio. Any tips or advice would be appreciated. 2 Quote

Super User Catt Posted February 22, 2019 Author Super User Posted February 22, 2019 @Scot Ferguson There's something about that Pond! ? Bassmaster has a tournament going on right now...I'd pay attention to the results! Bassmaster will interview the top anglers who will divulge where (shallow or deep) & on what. In 3 weeks you can definitely look shallower! I will absolutely be there the week after you. ? 3 Quote
