All I really like to read this forum. I have a lake house on Toledo and fish as often as I can.

I really get frustrated with the common names that locals use for certain fishing areas, and without local knowledge, you never figure out where they are talking about.  Well, in effort to not I cry about it and develop something useful, I created a google KMZ file that has all of the Toledo Bend fishing spot names that I know of. I will share with you to allow for others to fill in their local fishing spot names that I missed. If you add to the KMZ, change the version of the KMZ and re-upload it, for example, Toledo Bend Maps version 2.

I hope this works.

@TR21X2 typical pre-spawn ?

@Toledo Banger I'll have to check it out!

If you have a problem with local names just ask!

I'm quite sure one of us will know it!

Found excellent hydrilla in Six Mile yesterday afternoon.  Wish I had gone there earlier. Just caught 3, 2 nice keeps on a Chatterbait over grass. Thinking about going to San Miguel next.  I know that there's hydrilla at Blue Lake.  Is there any in San Miguel, or on the 1215 flats?

Have fun fishing in the rain this week.

I trailered the boat for the next few days due to intense rain fall they say is due too start tonight.

I haven't seen any drilla growing but some other types of grass is growning. Some in places I haven't seen grass in several years. So there is hope the grass is making a come back.

Guess I'm weird I adapted just like the fish did, I don't need the grass too catch but it sure is fun trying too pull one out of it.

If I was targeting drilla, I would start in the north Toledo bend park area, around the islands. If there isn't any growing their, I don't have a clue where to find any on San Miguel.

The blue lake/1215 boat ramp area should have a ton back in the (Pocket).

Hope this helps sir.

There is plenty at the blue lake/1215 boat ramp area. Most I've seen in quite a few years. Almost as much as the humans there last Wednesday ?

Next time I head that way, I want to try the back of San Miguel, myself. At least I can get away from them some. Good luck.

Don't plan on it. San Miguel gets hit just as hard as any other area of the lake. Maybe even more so come tourney time.

It's typical this time of year for me too see 30 to 40 boats a day from my front porch, while drinking coffee.

You know what I have noticed the most over the years?

9 out of 10 boats, doesn't matter how many guys in each boat. They are all doing the same thing with the same size and color baits.

Triged soft plastics, worm and lizard bout 6 inch length or a brush hog.

Got to think outside the box.

My exact thoughts when I hear everyone whining "the lakes getting fished out!".

9 out of 10 guys have no clue what they are doing & simply luck into fish!

Yeah but Catt they've catching & cleaning 6-8# bass!

Yeah & for every one they catch there's a dozen they don't!

@A5BLASTER, myself, & others have watched this dance every spring for years it aint changed.

Thank you for this.  Its works perfectly.  I live in N.O. and only fish TD about twice a year and sometimes I cannot figure out the local names.  This is great.

You can buy Snagless Sallys but pork frogs are pretty much history.

Carry your map with you at all times. When you talk to a local and they tell you about a spot. Ask them too point it out on the map. Then right the name down on the map. That's what I did for a lot of spots on San Miguel.

What you will find is one local will call a spot one name and the next 10 will have 10 diffrent names for the same spot.

@Toledo Banger can't get it to open

It just opens a google earth map for me.  That may be what is supposed to happen.  I am no rocket surgeon.

Caught a few staging fish. 10-15 fow drop shot and the biggest spot I've ever caught to go with them. Nasty weather but had fun after the rain went away for awhile.

Never launched at Sepulvado but blue lake is pretty well protected. It is tucked away pretty good.

Sepulvado is perrty well protected as well but it can get shallow very quick if the water level is down a bit. I had a hard time getting on and off the trailer there during teal season one year.

Blue lake is very well protected doesn't matter the wind you can get off and on the trailer easy there. Well as long as you don't mind waiting for half of Sabine parish to finish drinking and smoking and shooting the bull to get out your way.
