Dougw Posted February 11, 2019 Posted February 11, 2019 So... let me ask this.  If it had simply been 3-4 degrees warmer, still raining but now it’s not white, does that make it acceptable? The photo is pretty graphic it that it’s showing an accumulation over time. But really, minute by minute, it wasn’t really all that spectacular or awe inspiring.... Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 12, 2019 Author Super User Posted February 12, 2019 @Dougw1515@aim.com  Hypothermia is a physical condition that occurs when the body's core temperature falls below a normal 98.6° F (37° C) to 95° F (35° C) or cooler. Cold water dangerously accelerates the onset and progression of hypothermia since body heat can be lost 25 times faster in cold water than in cold air. Quote

But it’s also true in bright, cloudless days. 1 Quote
RCCA Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Finally got all my junk fixed, kinda. Headed to Caney at Rayburn cause some knuckle head said it was open. It's closed so I came in back to Six Mile. Caught 8 this afternoon in that gale force wind. Five keepers that I didn't keep. Half on a very slow rolled with stops spinnerbait and half on a trap. Tried slower baits but it didn't work for me this afternoon.  If I can walk in the morning, headed to 1215 and then back to work to pay for all these dead batteries ? 3 Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 13, 2019 Author Super User Posted February 13, 2019 @Lil Joe The Grinder great report!  Rayburn still that high? 1 Quote
RCCA Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Yes Sir, still almost 10 feet high. In hind sight, I wish I would have gone to Jack's or Indian Mounds with that big West - Northwest wind this morning. 2 Quote

I might not make it out too the 1215 area but I for sure will be somewheres on the backend of San Miguel. In some shallow water slinging a swimbait and spinnerbait. Â Puffin on a Joe camel and ripping lips. Are branches lol seems my casting skills have gone way down over the winter lol. Â It was bad the last time out, think I made 4 or 5 new brush piles I got in the trees so much lol. 2 2 Quote
RCCA Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 You didn't miss too much at Blue Hole. I caught 4. Good news was two of them were over 4lbs. Very slow.  Caught 3 on a brush hog and one on a spinnerbait. Tried all kind of baits from 1 to 10 feet. Hope the back of San Miguel was better. 2 Quote
Clinton john Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Didn't fish much today. Put the boat in around 8 this morning and fished to bout lunch aka noon.  Boated one legal keeper, probably male didn't look like it had any eggs. Put back 11 fat fat fat females smallest coming in at 2 3/4 and biggest at 4 1/2.  Half a degree in water temp is what was the deciding factor. Fished 3 coves back of each cove 58.5 front of each cove 57.9 to 58 degress.  All my fish coming on white spinner bait today slow rolled around buck brush and scattered grass.  I expect it too be much better tommorw and Friday should be awesome.  Edit to add. Forgot water depth 1 to 5 feet.   6 Quote

Bass_Fanatic Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 I’ve been on good fish the past few weeks, but yesterday in basschamps the spots moved in on 6 of my 7 schools.  Had 10lbs at noon.  Finally hit a school of largemouth and culled every thing we had in the last 3 hours. Ended up with a little over 19lbs and finished in 7th out of 319 teams.  All were caught in 15-18’ around channel swings. 7 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 17, 2019 Author Super User Posted February 17, 2019 @Bass_Fanatic That's how ya kick bass!  First report I've heard on Spots ? Quote
TR21X2 Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 Sorry for the late report from this weekend but things got a little crazy on me this weekend. I fished from 25' to 1' and the best I could come up with was 2 keepers and 3 throw backs. All were caught on a chart rattle trap beating the bank (which I hate) but that was the only way I could get bit Saturday. Don't be scared of the muddy back waters, its warmer and there are fish there. I was fishing the trap with my flipping stick and putting it places a trap should not go but that's what it took for me. I heard a report that some guys were catching on a spinner bait but it didn't work for me. Followed up the trap with a wacky worm in some lovely looking spots but never got any takers. Needless to say it was a long freaking day.... FYI this was in the 6-mile/sandy/willow oak AO. Â 2 Quote
