As far as the offshore fish, what is a good depth range for this time of year and or location? Quote
PlanoSooner Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Okay. Back with my report for day 2 of our tournament. Wind shifted and blew us off the docks we planned to drop shot for the most part. Picked up some schoolies off main lake points and then a few fish off some docks on the north side of la nana by the 191 bridge. Taught the boys to drop shot. Worked well, but mostly short fish. Weigh in was noon so we didnt have much time to adjust. Just grind out what we had in front of us.  Learned a lot. Will be better prepared next time, Looking forward to trying to fish offshore if weather is permitting.       On 10/20/2018 at 9:54 PM, Catt said: @PlanoSooner I might be in creeks but wouldn't be in the back just yet! Yeah. my report came from a well known pro who recently won a tournament there. i tried to replicate his report in my area. didnt work out so well. wasted too much time on that. lesson learned   Quote

PlanoSooner Posted October 24, 2018 Posted October 24, 2018 Yeah Catt.... I learned that. I was being hopeful since we couldn't prefish and the weather scrapped my month long plans.  1 Quote

Bass_Fanatic Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 The deep bite has been very tough to pattern. Here today and gone tomorrow. There are a few fish out there, but they are on the move. The shallow bite has been more consistent 1 Quote

Super User Catt Posted October 30, 2018 Author Super User Posted October 30, 2018 What I look for are creek channel coves regardless of size. Â That would include the likes of Housen`, Hurricane, Ashmore, & Bull. Â From the mouth back approximately 1/3 to maybe 1/2 depending on the creek. Quote

Bass_Fanatic Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 I fished Toledo Friday and Rayburn Saturday.  We caught 44 total Friday between a day trip with Mr. Skip Adams and then fishing a few hours in the afternoon with my college guys I’m coaching at Louisiana College.  Had some pretty good fish for the way the lake is fishing right now.  I stayed out of the way Saturday for a college tournament and went to Rayburn.  One of my college teams came in 7th out of 119 boats and qualified for the national championship.  We caught fish on a 6xd in 18’ of water and some on a trap in shallow grass.  Most fish came on ledges in 18-23’.  On Rayburn we didn’t get many bites, but when we did, it was good fish.  Caught a 7, 5, and 4 and missed a couple more real big ones.  Deep brush and shallow grass both produced good bites for us.  1 1 Quote
Amateur Hour Posted November 5, 2018 Posted November 5, 2018 She sho was angry on Saturday. Wind was pumping out of the south. Caught a lot of fish again, but again no quality.  Note: There is a stump in the in the left center of N/S if you are heading south just south of the bridge. It is about in line with the community hole and barely above the water level. 1 Quote
Nitreaux Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 Are you talking about the community hole at Housen, Amateur Hour? Quote

Amateur Hour Posted November 7, 2018 Posted November 7, 2018 I am trying to get back up there next weekend. Â If I do and I head south I will tie a jug tight to it to mark it. Â Do you think that is the best way to mark it? Â 2 Quote
