Had some friends doing some night fishing and sent me this pic, 9-4lbs

That's nice right there.

But not nice enough to make me want to get out in the big pond at night in the wind in open water.

Been Away for Awhile!

Will be up to fish the Oilmans June 8-9th

My spring fishing was ok, nothing big.

Fished the Mcdonalds, three days only managed four fish and nothing to weigh.

Went back and reviewed all the pages, a few observations

The bite seems to be a lot tougher the last couple of years with the absence of grass.

I need to go back and study my topo maps again and start from the beginning to learn how to

catch fish Offshore!

I fish more mid-lake area than south, so not much grass to work with for deeper bite.

Since reviewing all the pages, some of our members have progressed over the years and really

done well fishing tournaments and now some are guiding. Thanks again for all the members that

post information regularly.

Absence Grass - Mid lake area and north, includes all that grows on the lake.

I have been following regularly, just did not have any good info to share.

So what has been the ticket besides the night bite. Main lake points, humps, creek channel swings during the day? Been away with work need a jumping off point.

At Fin-n-Feather right now!

Wind blew 20-25 & gust, finally laid about 1.

The bite was slow but we managed 9 with a solid 19# & change.

Everything was on Texas Rigs in 12-18' of water. Lots of suspended fish 4-7' off the bottom. Not a single bite on Carolina Rigs or Jig-n-Craws.

Catt I got here about 4 and fished for about 3 hours. Caught 8 on a drop shot fishing bridge pilings. Nothing big just nice 15 inch fish. Did notice fish were suspended up until and hour before dark then they got on the bottom and set up nice. Just took awhile to figure out they  wanted the ds

Made it home safe & sound ?

What a ride!

The wind was unmerciful most of the time.

The bite was ridiculously crazy, with everything from them grabbing & swimming off with it on the drop to some of the lightest bites ever.

Ended with with 25 total, missed at least that many. The bite was weird but all solid 3-5 lb fish.

Top 5 was 22# & change

Sorry not a single photo!

Let me guess, the wind was out of the south southeast, so you fished the south bank of Housen from F&F to the back. :)

Need recommendations for cable sling lift inspection and position change on the cables. Have any good ones to recommend?

Question.  Lets say I am idling around looking over deep points in an area and find a school of fish.  How long do those fish typically stay there?  Do they hang around on that point all summer but position themselves differently on that point, or do they leave all together?  I am wondering if it is worth it to go graph and find fish knowing you won't be back up there for a few weeks?  Thanks all.

Dang it is quiet in here.  Either no one is fishing or they are tight lipped.

I don't know, workers comp, what can I say.

I have a good day and can move around and do stuff good then the next day I can't do anything.

I'm feeling good today so I might get some fuel in the boat and go try for a bit.

Lil update for yall.

Me and the bum knee went out yesterday evening and hit a few sand bars and flats near the house.

Baits used

Bandit square bill in black and pearl with sparkle on the back.

1/4 once black and crome super spot

4 inch kvd ghost shad swimbaitwith owner flashy swimmer hook.

Water depth 2-5 feet

Landed 44 and keep 6 14 to 15 inch fish for eating most bass being 10 to 14 inch some smaller some bigger.

The summer school bite on sand bars seems to be doing ok, will be back out this evening.
