I'm going tomorrow. Can't take it anymore!  Going deep and in the lake until October. Don't care what I catch. It's time to bite the bullet and learn. If I gotta idle for three days looking that's what I'll do.

Well, it's hot for sure. Caught 12 or 15 this morning in 30 feet of water around a fork in a creek channel. One on a drop shot about 3 pounds. All the rest were on top water. 2 pounders schooling all around me. They're probably still doing it. Couldn't figure out how to catch em when they went down. Suspended. I gave out. It's bad to get old and can't take the heat anymore.

I graphed and fished a little yesterday. Found huge schools of whites and blacks mixed together. Could have caught enough fish to sink a boat.  No real big size, but never targeted big fish, we were having too much fun catching numbers.  We found fish from 15-30'

Ok gents here is how it goes down on San Miguel the past two days.

Water 5 to 7 feet, sand bottom, scattered logs and stumps on bottom, grass line just off small creek channel, creek channel is 12 foot deep but runs out and dumps into river channel 20+ feet.

Lures bandit 100' s, color pearl and black back with orange bell and a black spot added just above the front hook.

Bass are running the shad down big time where the creek runs along the sand bar and goes between a island and main bank, running the cranks with the current they smash them as it reach's the hump between the island and main bank, they are staged there right of the grass line on the current side of the hump.

I gave y'all the where and how the rest is up to y'all to find the exact spot.

Me and dad limited in 30 mints yesterday evening and we limited the evening before in like a hour.

Hope this helps sombody.

Hey Catt,

Doing fine my friend.  Sorry for the delay in response.

Haven't been able to get up to the Bend too much lately.....therefore....little to contribute.

Work just keeps gettin' in the way.....but I'm still very fortunate.....

Made a quick trip to San Miguel area a few weekends ago.

Hadn't fished that area in a while.  Very little grass (mainly hydrilla) to be found.  Water was fairly stained in that area.

Did happen to catch limits by crankin' & draggin' FB jigs near points where creek channels/ledges were close by.

Fished a few humps too.  5XD's & DT10's (colors mentioned in a previous post) produced best.

Had some good success with zoom swimmin' super flukes (baby bass) rigged on Owner Flashy Swimmers too....... ;)

Nothing above 3-1/2 lbs but caught good numbers.

Sounds like I was fishin' same waters where @A5BLASTER's been hangin' out......LoL

Quick tip: Check ALL of your electronics before leaving home.  My front HDS never powered up, so I fished somewhat "blind" and   while there, only to find out when I returned home that the fuse in the front power supply was bad.  Duh !

Still had a blast though !

Hope to get back there soon.  Love Fall on the Bend !

Will be continuing to watch this thread and continue to be thankful for everyone sharing their experiences.

Be safe Everyone!

Been seeing a lot of reports on FB  about lots of floaters being spotted in the boat lanes.

We've got our house booked for fall break at the beginning of October. Last two trips have been to a little cove just north of Kites Landing. This time we have a house in a cove on the north side of Negreet. Pumped for my third trip to Toledo Bend.

Went up to 6-Mile & Housen' yesterday!

Not a single bump!

But then again I didn't wet a single hook!

Freind who lives near Fin-n-Feather truck blew a head gasket. Drove up, get him, & left.

I know that's gotta be breaking some law of bass fishing!!!!!

Who has fuel on the lake around Pendleton? I found Fox's in Housen last spring and I know Big Bass has fuel but they are only open on the weekends in the fall.

The house we rented is towards the back of Negreet so looking for something kind of close to that.
