San migeul, shallow 5 foot orLeeds , grass line along sand bar right off a creek channel that leeds to deep water.

FYI

I've been informed "ya see you were wrong the lack of grass has ruined Toledo Bend it is no longer in the top 10!"

The difficulty with the lack of grass is the bass have adjusted to it...the average angler has not!

The bass aint packed up & moved to Rayburn ;)

Finally had a good day out deep !! Caught around 50 with 3.5

being the biggest. Most fish were caught in 15 to 20 feet of water on shakey heads and spoons.

i fished the San Miguel area. Points and humps.

No sir . I've got a 21 foot ranger smoke color with some red . I fished the outer half of San Miguel. Close to the state park.

Cool deal, seen a red ranger fishing one of my fav humps not for from my house thought it might of been you.

By the park you say huh. Was it the humps on the east side of the parks boat run just after you turn on it from San Miguel' s main boat lane?

If it wasn't forget I said anything bout them humps there ain't no fish on them hehehehe.

Fished from noon till about 6. Caught probably 30 fish with the biggest about 3. Carolina-rig in 6-15ft of water. First time ever fishing the Cypress Bend area. I have only fished the North end a few times. Had a good time. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Did you get your Ultrex installed? If so, how are you liking it?

I had one good morning while up there last week. Caught right around 25 in 2.5 hours on a crankbait that dives to around 12'. For a while I was hooking up on every cast, some made it in the boat and some danced and threw the lure. A lot of them were solid 2.5-3.5 lb fish with some 13 inchers thrown in. I hadn't planned to keep any until I got one of the trebles in its gill and was bleeding pretty good, so I kept 5 from 14.5 to 15.75 inches.

This was the same general area I caught them last month, a flat with stumps that drops into a creek channel.

Yes I got it installed and used this week on the bend. That is the best add on I have ever put on a boat. Worth every penny. Nothing like driving over a school of fish dropping trolling motor and fishing off the back deck !! Lol

I'm seriously considering getting the Ultrex for my boat especially since I run humminbird units that can be paired with it to run on designated contour lines. When I marshaled in the elite tournament last April my pro had one and he "anchored" out in deeper water and stayed on his spot. My problem is what to do with my 101# thrust 36 volts trolling motor I have now. It's too much for my smaller boat and I likely wouldn't get much for it by selling. Though it works well it is 10 years old and I surely couldn't get much for it.

Catt, Thanks for the time you spent sharing information on Tbend. I am going to make my first night trip up that way since 2004.(started traveling for work) Was able to start fishing again in May of this year. Been chasing (and catching) flounder; ready for a little largemouth action now! Will be fishing out of the Six Mile area. I did make a run up there a few weeks ago just to see how much it has changed. WOW, most of the tree lines are gone. I am sure the underwater structure is still there though. Plan on fishing some humps on the north side of the old boat run and some that are located just south of the island at the end of the run on the Sandy Creek side. Hope I get to post a good report late Saturday when I get back home. Hope to meet you someday on the water.

Tight Lines.

@BayBoatFisherman how y'all are?

The treelines  are still there, the trees broke off at the water line, which means along with the stumps the logs are on the bottom now.

When the lake level drops back to around 168 you'll see move stumps!

Well, made the trip. Did not have any luck Thursday night, did not find any of the humps with grass that I wanted to fish. Looked for grass Friday to fish that night found a couple of spots. About 6:30 weather turned ugly. Lightening all over did not get to fish, loaded up and came home. Going to play on the Sabine today and catch some marsh bass. Again thanks for all in insight you have shared with every one.

Got a question-------went last Thursday(started fishing by ~4 AM --to beat the heat & 'take advantage' of the end of the full moon)....HA, didn't catch anything till 6:30 AM, well after good lite.......Wound up catching 10(fished till  noon)----ALL but 1 were dinkers(under 10-11 inches)-----the one keeper was a 4-7 though.......Caught mainly on RTs(chrome & crawfish color) & crankbaits(mainly sexy shad 8 to 10 ft runners).........The 4.5 was caught on a 10.5 Ole Monster junebug worm around 10 AM.....lol, fished that rig HARD for the next hour or so without another hit.....

NOW the Q-------------how do I 'upgrade' these dinkers?????????/......tia..........

If I make catching dinks, I continue to move until I find better fish. You have to be willing to give up bites to find the right bites sometimes.
