Well, no such thing as a bad report Ronnie.  Unfortunately its gonna be another week or so before I can get back up there so keep the reports coming to tide me over.

Planning a trip to TB for Saturday.  Weather is looking good.

I spent a fair amount of time doing some armchair fishing this week after getting access to Navionic maps.  The 1' contours of the maps on my laptop are amazing for off-water study, but not sure if some areas are correct.  Some creeks and contours don't quite match up, seen where some of them actually go up hill.  Question for Catt:  Do you know if any cofferdams were put in the lake bed or bayous before it was impounded?

We will probably put in at Alpine and hit the Palo Gaucho area again, though reports from there hasn't been promising.  With a SW wind of only 5mph we may round the corner and head up towards Carrice.  Or thinking about checking out some of the real estate along the Western shores North of the Pendelton Bridge and South of Patroon.  Navionics map is showing a few creeks coming off the main channel and Patroon into a large relatively shallow area with several mounds. Any experience or reports from that area?

fished 6mile today.  7 keepers, let a 18 and half inch go, so she can make babies.  caught them on weighted senkos.  not many shallow fish.  mostly 6 to 8 foot of water still.

Navionics maps are pretty good but not perfect, especially in the flat areas. I learned that arm chair fishing and then going to check it out. Also, the creek beds, boat rows, underwater bridges, etc seem to be off a tad. I can't remember which direction. All in all just a good starting point. Good luck. Be there tomorrow afternoon, myself. Good luck to all you fishin' fools ;)

draino, I'm sure there were cause there is all kinds of things under water. I know of house foundations, cars, & even a school bus.

6MILE SKEETER, good report!

I've heard of bass on beds anyone verify this?

I didn't see any but I saw some dudes sight fishin' and they caught one so it's going on. I think Rippin's was on a bed. Congrats on that fish. Also, heard a big one was caught in Housen shallow on a bed last weekend. I'll look a little harder this weekend and let you know if I see any.  Last weekend because the lake had fallen so much, I had to back off some to catch anything.

Catt, I can confirm a few on beds. Caught a five pounder on the bed in a very warm pocket of Patroon (65 degrees.) I also caught several staging fish in the back of creeks in San Miguel swimming a 1/2 ounce jig with craw trailer. Saturday I had close to a 20 pound stringer. First post by the way, relatively new to Toledo Bend.

Last Saturday and Sunday my son and I were in the Housen/White Oak area.  We did see a few on beds, but it was in those few places that had warmer than normal water.  We caught fish from 15 fow in to the bank.  Most of our bites came on the outside edge of the grass.  I think what we were seeing was the first big push to the bank.  We had a week of warm weather and we were fishing the day before the full moon.  This week with cooler weather may slow them down a bit, but I think things are about to blow up in regards to the spawn.

I imagine by the time I get back up there, a floating rogue bite will be pretty good in addition to shallow crankbaits.

Managed to fish in housen from 12-5 today. Windy, water was pretty stained. Water temp 59-60. Saw a bunch of boats working the shoreline. Was a tough day for me. I only caught one fish. But she was a beauty!!!

Good job!  I fished almost all day Saturday from the bridge to Patroon. Caught 8. This morning I fished Six Mile and caught 11. Tried deep and shallow. Caught them all shallow in spirts in protected places. All new areas to me... still learning the place.

Catt, the water was too stained to see any beds but they were so shallow they had to be. Size is getting better too. Caught 3 over 4 pounds :)

Hey Catt what depth do you usually target on Vernon?

Pretty much like the reports ya reading here!

there are probably some early spawners out there.  the big wave of spawners didnt happen till April last year, at least in 6mile.  Im thinking mid march this year.  probably start throwing flukes pretty soon though.

I fished Housen, 6mile and Mill Sat (2/27) from 6:30-6:00. Water temp. was 58-60 slightly stained in Housen and 6mile clear in Mill. Ten boated with a swing and a miss on just as many or more. All fish caught on TR creature baits from 2 to 12 FOW. Three fish caught between hay grass and bank and all were males. The better fish were 8-12 FOW.

Well, I got scared of the forecasted 15-20 mph winds so I fished Cane River instead. Put 20 in the boat and missed several more. Sure wish I could have been on Toledo! I'm sure they were biting good today!!

Plans to head south this morning didn't happen. Wind was blowing pretty good this morning so decided to stay north. Caught 9 flipping by noon, kinda slow. So made a change and went deeper. Caught 14 after noon until the front blew in at 3:45. All fish were caught in 15 fow on football jigs. Full of eggs. They have got to be making a move in the near future !!
