RCCA Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 I really don't want to talk on here anymore but can't help but welcoming new people so welcome! Quote
Bryanhester Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Fish are on the move !! Most fish are void of my winter time spots. Caught fish staging on secondary points and caught some trap fish. Â My flipping rod also got bent in the bushes !!!!? 1 Quote
Ranger Jim Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Fished North last weekend 1215 , Blue Lake area. Caught fish on Trap in 10 to 12 foot . Sunday was tough. Â Â Â 1 Quote
tmac521 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Does anyone know if Jacks 944 ramp is open and if it is what shape is it in. Thanks in advance. Quote
wrp75951 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Last time i put in at Jacks,it was fine.Hoping to hit the Bend or Rayburn this week after work and the weekend.Nice thing about living in Jasper, best of both worlds. Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 19, 2016 Author Super User Posted January 19, 2016 Jack's is one of the few launches that is good at any lake level & since it gets little pressure it has helld up well. Quote
tmac521 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Thanks wrap and Catt. Was thinking about going to the lake in a few days and saw  The wind was predicted to be blowing hard from the Northwest and thought Jacks would be protected and I could then fish the North side of Housen. Quote

kking Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 I know that all bass don't go to the bank and spawn. Â Some do it main lake on humps and ridges. Â What kind of depth would they need for this? Â I was thinking 3-5 ft? Quote
june-bug Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I've read somewhere that largemouth bass will spawn in water up to 8' but that seems kinda deep to me. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I've caught fish on the south end off of beds in 8 ft quite a few times. Â Bigger fish seem to bed deeper than the rest IMOÂ 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 21, 2016 Author Super User Posted January 21, 2016 I've seen nest on top of stumps out on the main lake 8-10' under the surface. Tommy Martin who scuba divers has proven this more than once, he's seen nest at.15'! Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 21, 2016 Author Super User Posted January 21, 2016 Oh yea! Pre-spawn & the spawn will happen long before ya think it will! Quote
THE GMAN Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Coming to the lake next week, anyone been to Lowes creek? Not going to make the run if the water was off color. Dan Quote
Bryanhester Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Fish were very active today , despite the bad weather. Found fish busting shad in 53 degree water.  Staging fish full of eggs !!  More details after sat. 1 Quote
TbendAngler Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 I have to say this thread and forum as a whole has helped me so much. I've lived close to toledo bend my whole life and just recently was able to purchase my own boat and really got into bass fishing, all this infornation helps me get better everyday. Anyways, went out this morning for a small club tournament and the first fish of the day for me was 6.10. Shortly after the steering cable in my trolling motor snapped and ruined what looked like a great day of fishing.  Caught him on a chrome black back trap in about 8 ft. 1 Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Great fish TbendAngler!! Â Bad luck on the steering cable though. Â I'm sitting here waiting to hear results from the bfl on Toledo and ram open on Rayburn. Â It's killing ,e not being out there today lol. Â I know Bryan Hester fished the bfl, hopefully he did well! Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Congrats Bryan on getting a check today!! Quote
Bryanhester Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Thanks !! Tough day for sure. Had to scrap my game plan around lunch. No bites till 1:00. Went looking deep and found a couple of points with fish on them. Wish I would have made the move earlier. Oh well live and learn.... 1 Quote
Bryanhester Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Squeaked in with the last check in the bfl yesterday. Man what a tough day. Didn't get a bite until 1. Had to scrap my game plan After lunch and salvaged a 29 place finish with just under 14 lbs. Found  a couple of points that were holding some fish. Caught all fish dragging a football jig. 1 Quote
THE GMAN Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Hey, 29th very good jobs. BFL has some very good sticks. Dan Quote
june-bug Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Congrats Bryan! Can somebody tell me who and what won it? For some odd reason the posted results start off with second place and don't show who or what won. I see ole Darold Gleason took third with 23 and change and a 9.7 pound kicker. Quote
