june-bug Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 That's some good stringers man. I would have got my but kicked lol. I probably only had about 12 pounds Saturday. Did pretty good yesterday morning. Found some fish on a ledge and caught 8 of them in about hour and a half with a couple four pounders mixed in . Twenty to twenty five foot of water plum colored zoom ole monster. 1 Quote

RCCA Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Great job! One day I'll find a ledge like that. Can't wait! Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Should have been on that ledge the whole time huh! Apparently so. I was hoping for one good one on a frog early, but could only catch 2-3lb fish. Quote

Bass_Fanatic Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Bass_Fanatic, lures & techniques Plastics fished very slow! If you catch one, you better fish that area thoroughly. Quote
jcdogfish Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 BF, you did a lot better than me. I had a 7 on Friday late on a crankbait and she threw it on the 4th jump. I'll take that, she was going back anyway and I got a good look at her. Other than that I scrapped around and caught 10-12 fish per trip Friday afternoon and Saturday Morning. Didn't fish long Saturday afternoon and found it kinda dead. In 2 hrs I had 2 bites so I packed it in. Wind kicked my butt where I was trying to fish and after a couple of fish threw the crankbait I slowed down as much as the wind allowed. They just were not eating it and barely catching the rear hooks. Where is that anchor Catt has been telling us about??? Most fish on plastics or a football jig with a senko trailer. I don't know that I was on much, seems like I tend to loose touch with them after 20'. To me it seems like they are moving up to 15-20 feet from time to time but after that I can't seem to locate them. Probably going to get back at them this weekend and bringing the anchor just in case. By the way,,those fishing early and late don't for get the running lights. They are checking for them. RCCA Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Kinda quiet so I'll open my beak. Question. I read an old article about the 2012 Bassmasters at The Pond and Swindle and one of the Lane brothers both used a Lucky Craft Pointer Minnow. Is that bait really worth 20 bucks? Quote

But it shouldn't cost you $20. I use the slender pointer 112 a lot and can usually find em for closer to $15. Quote
Many Boy Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I'm finally due home from work in a week and ready to hit the water! Last time I was on TB in early June, the fish were really bunched up on points and ledges and biting most everything I throwed at em. Has anyone seen them still like that or do they spread out more as the summer wears on? Quote
RCCA Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Slender pointer 127 was 19 bucks. I don't mind if they work. It just seems kinda high to me. Quote

june-bug Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Just got back from 5 days on the bend. Fished mid lake the whole time. Had the wife and kiddos so I didnt really fish as hard as I would have like to but did manage a couple hours every morning and afternoon. Averaged about 7 fish or so every outing. Still havnt found them bunched up. Just one here one there. Plastics fished very slowly on main lake points 15 - 25 was about all i fished. Zoom ol monsters and my son kicked my butt one outing using a bait called a space monkey. He put together over a 16 pound stringer out the back of the boat and let me know all about it lol . All in all had a great time with the family, took the little ones play in the lake a bunch and had some refreshing blue cans at the camp. Cant wait to get back in two weeks. Oh me and the wife did try night fishing in the drizzling rain for about two hours after that storm Saturday evening and didnt get a bite. Fished from about ten till midnight. Maybe all the boat traffic from during the day and runoff from the thunderstorm shut them down??? We did get to see a bunch of fireworks out on the lake though even in a light rain. Quote
jpmor1 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I'm trying to find an SD card for my Lowrance HDS that shows the contours of the lake. What's a good one? And is there somewhere local that I can get one? Quote
june-bug Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I use Navionics Platinum+ offers all Gold features plus: 3D and Satellite Overlay . I like it alot. I dont know whats local to you but tackle warehouse can have one at your door in two days for $5 shipping. Toledo town probably has them also Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I have Humminbird units and use lake master chips. Quote
