I saw that fish Marcel!! That was a stud!

Thank you BF. I fished Thursday (10/9) and Friday (10/10). Thursday was more scouting and locating fish since my last trip was months ago (fall baseball). I started in Mill, then 6-mile and last but not least housen. I fished creek channels with grass lines next to it. Most productive lure was 7" Watermelon Red thumper worm TR 3/16oz. I fished the outside grass line, adjacent to creek, 15 to 20 fow.

Thursday 7am to 8pm Water temp 76 to 80 deg, mostly cloudy - 11 fish with 3# the biggest.

Friday Noon to 11pm Water temp the same, mostly sunny - 12 fish best 5 when around 25# to 26#. I caught the 11.27# at 8:30pm in housen off of a creek bend. After I weighted her at F&F, I fished for another hour or so and caught a 6#.

Catt or whoever can help :)  I'm headed to Toledo 2nd weekend of November to fish with my Dad.  We are looking forward to the trip and can't wait to put some information from this thread to good use.  We are staying at Fin-n-Feather (which will be our first time there) and fishing the Hausen Bay area.  Anyway, I am online shopping for some lures, which will mostly be soft plastics as that's my Dad's favorite.  However, I am also going to get a few of the chrome/black back/orange belly Rat-L-Traps.  However, I'm struggling to find the exact one.  Is it Model # RT26?

Hey Fanatic, how did you do in the GAF (Bass Cat tourney)?

Hey Fanatic, how did you do in the GAF (Bass Cat tourney)?

We ended up winning it with almost 20lbs. I had over 20lbs ore fishing both Thursday and Friday too. My partner caught one over 7 Friday and had a STUD straighten his hook on Saturday in the tournament. I thought that fish was going to cost us the tournament, but we were fortunate enough to catch 3 others over 5lbs. Our pattern was a little different than what everyone else was doing. We stayed deeper. Fish are moving shallow, but the big fish aren't there quite yet.

Congrats! That's fantastic. I saw the results on bass cat owners board but I didn't know your name. Looks like y'all had a good turnout. Did you hang out with the guys Friday night? It's a good group of guys.

Are y'all gonna go fish that clear water in Mountain Home?

I'm Josh Sikes and yea we are going to try and go fish up in Arkansas. I'll be lost up there, but gonna give it a shot. I think the thing I'm most proud of is the fact that we beat Kevin Short lol! I don't think the hanging out happened until Saturday night and I had to get home, so didn't get to hang around. I did get to meet Phil and a few others from the basscat boards though. It was an awesome weekend.

I would have to agree that the big ones are still deeper. That was my experience yesterday. Caught most of my fish before noon yesterday and the bigger ones were from around 30 feet. Seemed like the bite turned off about noon though with bluebird skies and no wind to speak of. Gonna try again today. Wind should be more prevalent.

Just a little something to think about

Bass offshore do not enter coves, just like during the spawn, shallow water for them are humps & ridges!

Oh yea big momma lives out there ;)

Thank you... I will be up there this coming weekend. The last time I was there it was 76 to 79 depending on location.

Anyone, what do ya'll think cold front prior to the weekend will do to them. Thanks

Shouldn't affect them much. A cold front this time of year normally is a good thing, may get em a little more active.

Thanks ***atic, thats what I'm hoping for. I will start where I found them three weeks ago (15'-20' edge of channel with grass) and adjust from there.

I'm heading to the lake in the morning. Any suggestion besides dress warm...
