Looks like Henry and I are in. Where is the launch gonna be and what's a fruit jar?

We will launch from cypress bend and take off at safe daylight (5:40ish). Weigh in at 3 back at cypress bend. $60 per team + $10 big bass. I've got some good scales we use for our club I'll bring. Get there early enough to pay and get to meet a few people before take off. I'll be there at 4:45 or so to take up money and meet n greet.

100% payback.  We will pay 1 place for every 5 boats.  1-4 boats = winner take all. 5-9 boats = 70/30 split. 10-14 boats = 60/25/15. 15-19 boats 50/25/15/10. Also 100% payback for big fish, winner take all!

Hows that sound?

Yep...best 5 fish.  Trying to keep everything pretty basic, dont want to get to in depth, this is more of a fun thing than a money maker.  If yall want to do some big money tournaments in the future, thats an option, but lets just see how many will show up for this one.  Here are some very generic, simple rules.

Rules

  1. 5 fish limit per fisherman in boat.
  2. Toledo Bend tournament will have a 14 inch limit on large mouth and 12 inch on Kentucky bass.
  3. Weigh-able fish are Large mouth and Kentucky bass only. Stripper bass, White bass, or Small mouth bass are not weigh-able fish.
  4. Each team is penalized 1 pound for every 5 minutes late. Each team must be out of the boat by the weigh in time. This also applies to big bass weight.
  5. All fish must be taken with rod and reel on artificial lures, trolling will not be permitted. All local and federal laws must be obeyed. No alcohol during tournament hours.
  6. Live wells can be checked before tournament.
  7. 2 fisherman per boat only.
  8. US Coast Guard approved life vest must be worn and secured while the main engine is running. The engine kill switch must be attached to the driver while the main engine is running.
  9. There will be a 1/4 lb deduction for every dead fish weighed in. If big fish is dead there will be a 1/4 deduction also.
  10. If there is a tie, two places are added together and then split.
  11. Take off at safe daylight and weigh-in at 3:00 p.m.

new to the site but I've read the entire thread, lol. Great, Great info on here. Has anybody been fishing lately with all the rain? I've got a trip planned when I get off the rig for two weeks. Hopefully the rain hasnt messed up the fishing to much.

The rain won't affect the fish because the majority of them are deep. I went yesterday and caught 20 or so.

Caught a 7.14 and broke on one over 10 Saturday.

As far as good launches on the south end, that state park and pirates cove are always in good shape.

I've seen in a few places where there was a mapping chip with old roadbeds, drains etc but can't find any up to date info on it.  It was made by Tommy Martin and another fellow.  Anyone know any info on it?  Thanks

Finally finished reading all of this thread.  Thanks to all the guys who share their info and Catt for getting it going.  Lots and lots of great info in these 200+ pages.

.

I checked at Toledo tackle last week. The girl behind the counter said they didn't have it. Nor did the Country Station in Broussard. I'm looking for the same chip. If I find one, I'll message you.

RonnieF, jcdogfish,

I purchased mine about a year ago from the website address below:

http://www.swamplandtackle.com

Not sure if they still sell them.

At the time, Toledo Town & Tackle had them in stock @ $45 which is what I paid online.

You can also go to the link below to see who else may carry them in your area.

http://www.tb-guide.com/modules.php?name=News&file=print&sid=388

On that link it gives information on some retailers that states:

LOUISIANA - Toledo Town & Tackle (Many) and Country Station (Broussard)

TEXAS – Martins Corner (Milam), Tri-Lakes Tackle (Lufkin), Wulf Outdoors (Center & Athens), Needmore Tackle (Sam Rayburn) and Hales Tackle Shop (Nacogdoches)

The chip works with my Lowrance / Navionics Platinum chip and overlays the waypoints, trails, data, etc.

Hope this helps...............

I am new on here, I have read all the posts from the past, there is a ton of great info in here and I wanted to say thanks. I have fished all my life, mainly saltwater so bass fishing, especially deep is new to me. I bought a Camper last year and keep it at San Miguel, I work 14 and 14 and I fished out there alot this past year. It is a great place to fish, I have spent the last year just learning San Miguel and I only fished about half of that area , but I learned it well. I am leaving tomorrow to stay up there for 2 weeks, I will post some reports.
