Dam Yankee Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Anyone know of a paved launch near housen? As I understand it, white oak has gravel and I just don't think my 1/2 ton 82 gmc has enough weight on the back tires to pull a 20 ft. triton out of the water there. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 The launch at White Oak isnt bad. I have a 97 Dodge 1500 2wd that has no problems pulling out my 20 ft. Nitro there. Quote
Dam Yankee Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 I may give it a try this coming weekend. I don't think I have another choice if I wanna fish that area. I'll have a chain with me.......just in case. Quote

jchief Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Saw an article in the paper today. SRA bought a stump cutting barge and is going to dredge all of thier launches. Should start next month. Quote
Dam Yankee Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Looks like i am going to go tomorrow. I have been tryin to find exactly where white oak launch is located to get there but, I can't seem to locate it on a map. Quote
bullet20 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Looks like i am going to go tomorrow. I have been tryin to find exactly where white oak launch is located to get there but, I can't seem to locate it on a map. it's like going to the indian mounds, but when in the park take a right, pay at the sra area, and then 2-3rd road to right.if u go to far the road just circles back. cant rember road nums. but if u head towards lowes creek take the right when u see indian mounds rec.. Ill be there this weekend look for a black/yellow/white/red pins/ bullet lol. i have a camp at PBM. good luck Quote
Dam Yankee Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Thanks Jim and Bullet. I did find it yesterday. Long drive from leesville but, that is the area I wanted to fish. I unlatched the back of the boat and backed in the water to see how much of a drop off it was. Tires on the trailer went off of the rocks down into the mud. I barely made it out spinning the tires cause I dont have any weight in the back end of my truck so I did not feel comfortable launching there. I went over to the indian mounds to find it blocked off with equipment. They had it dug out and the water dammed off. Don't know if they are gonna pour concrete there or what. Maybe it will be ready by this weekend? I drive a clean Black 82 GMC 1/2 ton with a triton white/blue TR-20. Quote
Dam Yankee Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Anyone know if they are done working on the launch at indian mounds? Quote
TBendBassin Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Hey guys its good to be back!! my computer crapped out shortly after moving to the lake. I also wanted everyone to know that at Paradise Point, the marina I live at, has put in a new deep water launch!!! and this is no gravel or bags of concrete launch it is a completely new ramp. You can launch probably down to 145 God forbid it gets that low though. Here is a link of Stephen Johnston being the first to christen the new ramp at the ribbon cutting. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=220062191397210&set=o.131971273533984&type=3&theater. Paradise Point is a full service marina with restaurant, motel, and cabins. The fishing is unbelievable right now! Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted December 1, 2011 Super User Posted December 1, 2011 Has anyone heard from Catt lately? I tried to call his cell, only to find out it's no longer a working number. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Catt has been gone for a while around here. It sure is quiet without him. Hope all is well. Quote
redboat Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 T-Bend is one of my favorite lakes, the wife and I try to get down there a couple of times a year at least. Second favorite is Rayburn. We haven't been to either in a year and a half; last time out at Rayburn we barely got launched and that was when it was several feet higher than it is now. This dang drought is a bummer! I wish you East Texas guys the best, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We've had some rain the last few weeks in the North Texas area, hope some of it makes it down your way. Quote
jchief Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Made a trip up last weekend. 11 sacalait Friday afternoon and a limit Saturday morning. Newell's ramp is open. Quote

Super User Long Mike Posted December 25, 2011 Super User Posted December 25, 2011 His profile says that the last time he was active was in October.... Something seems wrong I got worried about Catt and tried to call his cell. Got the message that the number was no longer in service. That worried me even more, so I called his wife at work. Catt is fine. His computer crashed and he has yet to get around to replacing it. If he HAS replaced it, it would appear that he is no longer interested in participating in these forums. He will be greatly missed. Quote
Ranger Jim Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Launched my pontoon boat at Newells last week. Caught 36 nice Crappie shiners and jigs. Quote

Ranger Jim Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Guys, I was fishing the Chicken Coup Saturday caught 50 nice Crappie. Had to help pull Two fisherman out of the lake. A grandfather and his 13 year old grandson were fishing the boy fell in the grandfather fell in trying to help the kid. Three boats got to them quick. They had no boating ladder on the bass boat . If others boats had not been near they would have drowned. The kid could barely move and he had been in the water maybe 10 minutes. A ladder on your bass boat could save your life. Quote
