Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 19, 2013 Author Global Moderator Posted October 19, 2013 Jon and I fished Wyco for a couple hours this morning. He forgot his rain gear so when the rain started the party was over! It was tougher than I expected but I caught one on my 6 3/4" S Waver in the marina, a few on a wacky rig, and missed a whole bags worth of Flat Dawgs and senkos on a wacky rig for some reason along with a couple more misses on a chatterbait. Jon caught one on a jerkbait, broke off one on a wacky rig, and I think that was it. Water temps from 59-63 and very clear. Quote
SuperFluke Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Fished Wyandotte today. I didn't fare well. Caught a couple that were just short of being keepers on jerkbait and tube. Talked to one other that said he had caught about 10. I was really wanting them to bite a moving bait, and they really wouldn't do it. I don't know what the name of the cove is but out from the mouth of the furthest northeast cove by the dam is where the hump and brush I'm talking about is at. This brush is tough to get pictured right. I can only really get it when I hit it from one angle. This would be the pile that you are talking about. Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 27, 2013 Author Global Moderator Posted October 27, 2013 Yep, that looks about right. No wonder it's so hard for me to find, it looks like a pretty small tree/pile. I've caught some really nice smallies off of it though. Quote
joefish Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 How deep is that brush pile? Looks like a tough one to pin point, Quote
SuperFluke Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 How deep is that brush pile? Looks like a tough one to pin point, Depth is on right side of scale on first image. It's right on a break that goes from 10 to 30. Quote
joefish Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 OK, sorry about that Super Fluke. Guess I should look at the whole picture rather than just what I want to see. LOL Quote
joefish Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Caught a few Rainbow Trout at Wyco today. After baking a couple with lemon and dill I remember why I rarely fish for them..........don't like the taste of them. 1 Quote
sizzlefry Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 im cooking mine now salt and pepper wrap them in bacon we will see how they come out Quote
joefish Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Hope yours turn out better than mine did. Did not like all the bones either. Crappie much more tasty and easier to clean. 1 Quote
sizzlefry Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Waste of Bacon! It was actually really good but instead of using 4 or 5 pieces of bacon to wrap it I will put 1 piece inside the filet. bacon is more important to me. Quote
kanasbassfisher08 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 sounds like it would taste better like a sushi bacon wrap with more bacon oh and dont for get to add more bacon! Quote

Really it's best used as cutbait on the river. Or find someone with no tastebuds that loves the stuff and give it to them. Quote
kcdinkerz Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 out there throwing robo worm on drop shot got a few hits couldn't tell if it was trout or bass, that wind and rain was killer Quote
joefish Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 Windy on wyco today. Couldn't find any bass. Did manage 4 trout in the 4 hours I was there. Quote
kanasbassfisher08 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 man really those smallies should be blasting baits right now you would think i thought about going out there this weekend but probably fish melvern instead but keep trying man they should be ready to bust any time now 1 Quote
joefish Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Tough day at Wyco. Thought the smallies might be biting, no such luck. Only managed a trout on a ned. Quote
Skeeter9948 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I'm fishing the Wednesday nighter tournament at Wyandotte this evening.....anyone else planning on heading out there? Quote

Skeeter9948 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Good Luck, with this cold spell it will probably be tough. I live 5 minutes from the lake and fished it two nights ago when the cold front came through. Believe it or not it wasn't terrible out there....we didn't do too bad on smallmouth. Only 1 keeper, but when I'm fun fishing I just want to have that tug on the line haha. I wonder how many boats will show up. Quote
joefish Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I live by Washington HS and fish Wyco quite a bit. Never done the wed nighters (no regular partner) but do catch quite a few smallies and LM there. Kinda focused or crappie right now(soon as it warms back up). Quote

I've decided to break up with bass fishing for a trip or two and fish for crappie....havent fished Wyco much for them as I just recently got myself into a boat. Is there a decent population in there? conorsixtakc Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Lately Clinton's had the only hot crappie bite. Some big wipers being caught too. Quote
