I was out in Chickasha the last few days visiting a buddy and he took us down to a national preserve near Lawton.  I saw a couple of lakes that looked interesting; one even had some signs about small mouth and creel limits.  Anyone in on the forum know much about the area?  I may drag the boat out there next spring.

Lake Burtschi just south of Chickasa.  Spent many hours in the tube there--always did well.  Also try Taylor lake near Rush Springs.  I fished the refuge several times but never did too well.

Don't give up on the refuge. I've done very well on those lakes, however, you're limited to the number of sweet spots unless you have a tube, kayak, or similar craft. You're not allowed to use gas-powered boats and for good reason, it's a wildlife refuge. I logged 128 bass on the refuge last year and of those, 64 were 5-6 pounders.

That's an awesome vid!  I've fished in my tube 3-4 times without much luck.  Guess I just haven't hit the right pond at the right time.  Will def be back now

That is an awsome video.  Thanks for posting it on this thread.

Quanah Parker Lake, near the visitor center, is the largest and has the best access.
