bullet20 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 We probley put down in augistine landing(spell ?)it's closer from my camp by penndelton brige,t.b..I've had some luck near there on top water, buck bay, those islands by buck bay,and rayburn park.willing to run anywhere if winds ant bad.Bringing a buddy that never been there. I would like to make a trip out of jackson hill if we get time but only going for 1 day. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted November 20, 2010 Author Super User Posted November 20, 2010 Forget Jackson hill. you need to stay downj on the big water. If you do put in there watch yourself when you round the big point going south. Very shallow and you will be skimming mud if you are not sure where you are. San Augustine park...fish the outer points and islands out across the open water on the west side of the run going south.. buck bay, needmore point and down in that area is where i would fish. I'll pm some cordinates if you like, just remember there is likely to be very shallow water between the ramp and the cordinates. Lake is 8 1/2' low today. If it was me i would put in over around Caney Creek Ramp and run to coleman, veach, and five fingers, fishing the main lake points and checking the backs of the creeks. lots of shad working the mid areas of the creeks. top water has been real well. I fish this area about a month ago and been carful running.I saw some nice grass back of lil norris, but no luck. ill post results wed. or so. Quote
bullet20 Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 it sucked,3-keepers and 5-6 lil ones,1 5l ber on top water. weather was nice calm with a light breze in afternoon, fished topwater,spinner,c-rig,crank bait some main lake points, notter.fished T.b mon. before dark in pirates 3 keepers on top 2 where good fish for 1 hour of fishing.try rayburn in a week in 1/2 again. :-[ Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted November 27, 2010 Author Super User Posted November 27, 2010 Fished Rayburn Friday. Shad and the bass are loaded in the backs of the creeks i fished. White buzzbait, shad crankbaits, trick worm, lipless crankbaits(Rayburn Red) all caught fish. Moved out to the outer points midday and they were set up on them to. Just look for the shad on your units, the fish are closeby and feeding well. Lake is still way down(8+) so be careful. Temps were right at freezing early so dress warm. It rained and sleeted for a few minutes around 8:30 but lasted only 15 minutes. The bite was on. Quote
bullet20 Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 that's jack ,ill give it another try this fri.. Quote
bigtimfish Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Fished Rayburn a week or so ago, found a pattern right at the Walter Umphrey boat launch. Lipless in a off white or ghost color. Then on to Farmers cove. Same pattern same color. XR50 in ghost being the most productive. Cast literally on the bank and crank it digging up the bottom. Tiger creek was the same way, but more on 5" hollow swimbaits there. Just a little info for ya'll. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted December 31, 2010 Author Super User Posted December 31, 2010 According to my notes Sam Rayburn is 7.49' lower than it was a year ago today. The crankbait bite was on the last trip up. Quote
