Gangley Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Looking for a reputable guide on Lake Fork. What are some you your recommendations and experiences? Quote
RWHusker. Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Tom Redington is as good as it gets. If he's not available I would call John Tanner and if no luck there someone else needs to chime in. GO BIG RED Quote
OneUp Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 I asked the same question a few months ago and the name that kept coming up was Tom Redington. He came very highly recommended and so far he's been phenomenal responding to emails and answering questions. I'm actually booked for a couple of days in September and assuming things go as well as I expect, I'll be booking more days in the spring. Quote
BulletDon Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 There are several good guides on Fork. Got to Texasfishingforum.com and search for "lake fork guide" Tom is a great guide. Cameron at lake fork tackle just caught a 14.4 yesterday with a guide named Kendrick. Several are well known, but you cannot go wrong with Tom. Quote
oteymc Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 I just got back from there. I had tried to book with Tom, but by the time I knew the date I needed, he was booked. He was kind enough to refer me to a guide named Jason Hoffman. Really nice guy, knows what he is doing. Young guy, late thirties - a lot of fun. I think he said he had been guiding full time for 10 yrs on Lake Fork and a few years part time before that. I would definitely go with him again. I saw that 14.4 in the tank at the Marina. Huge! There is supposed to be a video online somewhere of them catching it. good luck! Quote
garland7 Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Brooks Rogers out of minnow bucket marina is good and an upstanding guy Quote
190sxchamp Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I was at Lake Fork last March for a week. Day 1, I used Lance Vick for my guide. Lance did a great job for us. Not only did we catch some fish with him, he explained how and were to run on the lake, he gave us multiple places to fish for the week. Thanks to Lance, I was able to join the double digit club on that trip. Quote
Skeet22 Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Fished with Larry Louvell on Fork this past spring. Put me on an 8.4. Really nice guy had a blast. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted August 13, 2010 BassResource.com Administrator Posted August 13, 2010 Tom's a great guy, so you'll have a lot of fun. But if you go again and he's booked, definitely try Dean Stroman. He's been guiding there since the lake was created, and knows it better than the back of his hand. He put us on fish even when conditions were tough - THEN apologized the bite "wasn't good enough" and took us out again a few days later for free! Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted August 13, 2010 Super User Posted August 13, 2010 Any of the names listed will get the job done. did Jay Kendricks start guiding? LOL, Cameron tested Jay's new setup out with one cast and hooked into the 14.44. Anytime you have a legal sick fish on Fork, go see Cameron at Lake Fork Marina, he's getting pretty good at nursing them back to health. Quote
Bull Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Try Dennis Canada, he is excelent. He will fish from daylight to dark if you like. He is not like alot of others. They will only fish from 7:00 to 5:00, just like a job. Dennis will put you on the fish. Quote
