Redtail Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 I want to use a jig more this year, but the pond I fish most of the time has a very mucky type bottom and loads of hydrilla. There are very few places on it that have a rocky bottom. Is there any jig that might work better for this application? Thanks in Advance! Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted February 28, 2008 Super User Posted February 28, 2008 If you are fishing out of a boat I would use a heavy jig like 3/4 ounce or more to punch through the weeds to get down to the bottom. If your fishing off of the bank, I would use a lighter weight like a 1/4 ounce or a 1/8 ounce and swim it back across the tops of the weeds. Quote
