Is anybody on here from SW Oklahoma like Lawton?  I am new to the area and looking for helpful tips and techniques on where the bass are.  I haven't been able to find anything in this area.  Any help would be great!  Thanks in advance!!!

I am originally from that part of the state. There is alot of good fishing down that way. You should try Lake Lawtonka particulary if you are a smallmouth fisherman. Lake Elmer Thomas is also pretty good especially for largemouth. The lakes on the Wildlife Refuge I like too and that is probably where I would prefer to fish. I like Quanah Parker and French lakes but there are many more out there too. Hope this helps and God Bless.

I have tried Lawtonka and haven't had any luck.  I think I was getting ahead of the bass thinking that they should have been in shallow water already but they weren't.  I have also tried Lake Ellsworth without any luck.  Do you remember if there are any BASS clubs in the area?  Where are you located now?  Thanks for your help.  I will look up the other lakes and give them a shot.

Well, I think you should have an opportunity at Lawtonka--the water may be a little cool still.  I have had some luck with rattle traps thus far, throwing up in the shallows where reeds or rocks lie.  As far as Ellsworth is concerned I never have fished it much and when I did I didn't do well.  I beleive alot of folks like it for catfish though. You should give the Refuge lakes a try--you should be able to catch fish there.  I am now located in the central part of the state and still get back to fish from time to time.  I know there are a couple of bass clubs around there--just don't know of there names.

You may be just a little early. Other than the lakes mentioned, try Ft. Cobb, Vanderwork, Crowder, Foss, all 4 Duncan lakes (Humphries, Duncan, Clear Creek and Fuqua), Rocky, Arbuckle, and Murray to name a few. That should keep you busy for awhile.

Check out Hobart Anglers web site. This club fishes lakes near you including Lawtonka, Ellsworth and Ft Cobb.
