Wesley Posted February 7, 2010 Author Posted February 7, 2010 Hmmm I didnt realize that was Easter weekend I can still make it though. But if we need to move the date I can also do March 27th which is a saturday. I cant do April 10th because my company tournament is that weekend. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted February 7, 2010 Super User Posted February 7, 2010 March 27th is good with me. Did not realize it was Easter weekend. I have tournaments the 20th and 27th of Feb., the 10th, and 17th of April, March 7th,& 13th, that I am committed to so far. Wife is much happier if we don't fish that weekend. Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 7, 2010 Super User Posted February 7, 2010 With 4 grandkinds & 1 that will be by Easter that weekend is totally out Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted February 7, 2010 Super User Posted February 7, 2010 That's good for me if everyone else is ok with it. Wesley, the live release tank on the trailer will not be available the weekend of the 27th. Probably don't need it though. I'll see if the scales will be available and let you know. Jack Quote
Ranger 251 Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I am interested for March 27th but let me confirm nothing else is gong on that weekend before I commit. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 March 27th sounds much better to me. I will be there and bring my boat and a partner. Also, I think trailoring to launch is a much better option. Just meet up somewhere for weigh in, in fact, just across the Pendelon Bridge there is a Marina that would be a perfect central place, not real sure of the name of it though. $20-$25 sounds great with $10 optional big bass. Maybe meet somewhere early, pay money, then trailor to whatever launch. And with 15 people, I dont think that we really need anything fancy, everyone just bring weigh in bags and someone bring some scales. Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 8, 2010 Super User Posted February 8, 2010 We have March 27th 2010 Wesley: boat & partener Jack: boat & Dan (txfisherman) Tommy: boat & Pat Mike: ? Ranger251: boat & partner Bass_Fanatic: boat & partner I think we should hold off on launch site until we know what the weather will be & trailering is an option. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted February 8, 2010 Super User Posted February 8, 2010 Catt, let's leave my back seat open just in case we have a late entry that wants to fish. If it gets down to it and it is still open then I will bring someone from our club if need be. Just think we need an option for a non boater. What you think? Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted February 8, 2010 Super User Posted February 8, 2010 Catt, Dan(txfisherman) just pm'd me and wants to fish with me. I am now partnered up. Add him to the list. Jack Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted February 9, 2010 Super User Posted February 9, 2010 Sorry, I can't make it that week-end. I'll be fishing with a bunch of my cajun buddies on Caney Reservoir - about twenty miles south of Ruston, LA. Just like the Road Trip, it's my favorite kind of fishing. No competition. Just a bunch of guys who like to fish, have a few beers (or more than a few) and sit around and lie to each other. I'll catch up with you folks some other time. Quote
Ranger 251 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 OK, I am in for March 27th. I like Bass_Fanatic's idea on entry fees, pick your launch site and meet for the weigh in. The resort on the Texas side next to the Pendleton Bridge used to be called the Pendleton Bridge Marina. It was closed for a while but I noticed last year they were renovating it. Let me know on the entry fees. Looking forward to fishing. Quote

Super User fishfordollars Posted February 13, 2010 Super User Posted February 13, 2010 Catt why don't we try to get together somewhere on Friday night so everyone can get to know each other. Any thoughts on where we might have a meal? Quote
Ranger 251 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Works for me. I will most likely take the Friday, 26th off anyway Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 13, 2010 Super User Posted February 13, 2010 You know Jack I was thinking the same thing but wasn't sure how many people would be driving up Saturday only. I had thought about meeting for breakfast but most cafes don't open til 6:00 which is to late in my mind; I think we should be on the water at first safe light. The next question is who will be driving over from the Louisiana side? There is Sportsman's & Fin-N-Feather in the Housen'/6-Mile area, that Mexican place & Fausto's in Hemphill, and 2 or 3 near Pendleton bridge that Wesley will put names to. Quote

There is Calfee's up close to pendleton that is open fairly early, its on the east side of the public boat ramp at carrice creek. We ate there a few times before going on the water last year and they serve good breakfast. I will have to swing by this week and check what times they open for sure. Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 13, 2010 Super User Posted February 13, 2010 Wesley let's look at a Friday night hookup Quote
Wesley Posted February 13, 2010 Author Posted February 13, 2010 Friday night meet up is in the air for me. I leave the rig friday monring and fly in to beaumont so depending on weather and flight delays I may or may not be able to make it home until late that night. Quote
Super User Catt Posted February 13, 2010 Super User Posted February 13, 2010 Have them fly you straight to the lake I was asking for places to eat supper in the Pendlton area and hopefully you will be there. Quote
